Hey, I am feeling giddy today. Sooooo....will ask for COB rollcall and year graduated from *first* nursing school (whether that be LPN/LVN or RN or even throw in the CNA date)...
I graduated in 1990 with my LPN. I was a CNA for at least 6 months prior to that. :)
Haven't been on AN much lately, but wearily checking in: I'm that anomaly - the 21st century diploma nurse. And very proud of the education I got. I occasionally cross paths with an ANer who claims there's no such thing, that "diploma programs are long gone".
(yes, they're heavily concentrated in a particular geographic area)
BSN 3 years after completion of the diploma program.
COBs and their supporters keep me here at AN.
Tell me about it. I hear all the time here about how inferior my education was because I went to diploma program. Had one person here a long time ago tell me I wasn't a nurse.
IMO, the best nursing education for entry-level would be a blend of the diploma education and university courses that would enhance that education.

I love all these posts, but the two above speak to me.
