I live in Alabama and several nurse's where I work clip their nails at the nurse's station and I find that to be horribly disgusting. Has anyone else had coworkers who do this? Does it bother you all or am I just being fussy?

Just sounds like your coworkers have bad manners/etiquette, not to mention no regard for Workplace Health and Safety. I think it's gross, and I am sure the Occupational Health Dept. at your facility would have more than a few opinions about it. I couldn't help but chuckle and imagine them kicking their feet up on the desk, peeling off their shoes and socks, and start clipping their toenails, too... Bahahawah! Ewww...
Buy them all a copy of Emily Post's Etiquette, 18th Edition for the next Secret Santa
Ick, but the nail clipping wouldn't really be what bothered me. I'd be ticked off that they are sitting on their butt while the rest of us are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Had a coworker spend alot of time surfing the net last week while the rest of us were overwhelmed and I sure did want to say something to her. I do know that I won't break my neck to help her out someday
What bothers you more? Cleaning up poop or seeing your coworkers clip their nails at the nursing station?
Why should we have to choose? I submit that we are required to deal with poop. Not so with nurses doing personal grooming on the clock and at the nurses station, which is also often a more "public" environment.
Well that's just gross. And unprofessional. Would anyone do that at an office job?! Doubt it. And I have to agree, did they not have anything better to be doing? All I keep thinking about is finding one of the nails at the desk... GROSS.
Oh you'd be very surprised at people's seeming lack of boundaries when it comes to personal grooming in public places. And while this thread is about nail care at work, I have seen people do the strangest (and I will say) grossest thing: cleaning one's ears with various office supplies(check), flossing (check), digging for gold, you know... Up to the second knuckle (check and gag), popping zits (check and double gag)...
If you really gotta do this, at least find a private place for it. I'm good at pretending I don't know it's happening if I can't see you.

Flossing at work? If they 'have' to do that, why not go to the bathroom. Cleaning one's ears with various office supplies?!? That is nuts! And yeah, definitely crosses boundaries of tastelessness.

PS---- I think nail clipping, tooth flossing, toe picking/scratching, brushing hair, etc should be done in the bathroom. Don't be so lazy, grossing out your coworkers like that. Go to the bathroom and groom yourself there. I have seen coworkers do all those things I mentioned at the nurses' station. Ish.
Have respect.

I don't think I've ever seen so many people have such a negative reaction towards nails, lol. Yikes
