Can't stop talking about nursing school?

Hello,

Is anyone out there like me. I am a prenursing student hoping to start LPN program in Jan 09. I just can't stop talking about nursing school. It's like I am one of those new mom who just can't shut up about their and new baby. I know it must get to my husband, friend, family and co workers. The thing is that I am always at school or study for my prereq classes any advice on how to start new converstation. ( I think I forgot)

I watch Discovery channel like other women watch soap operas. My husband came home the other day and I was on the couch eating a sandwich and he turned and looked at the TV and saw someone having a tumor removed

And then proceeded to say "I WILL BE SOO glad when you are a nurse so you won't watch that stuff at home."

I can't get enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay, this is good to know..I am just starting my pre-reqs for nursing and I already ordered some scrubs (couldn't wait)...and wear them around the house.... haha the dog doesn't seem to mind!

OMG, you guys are too funny! I can completely relate because I'm driving my husband crazy talking about nursing school. You know how you are talking to someone and they have that dazed look on their face?:confused: Well, that's how he looks everytime I talk about school! I'm sorry, but I just can't help it! I'm so nervous and anxious because I don't know what to expect. I hate going off of other people's opinions, so I need to form my own. Weird to some, but true! :lol2:

I start my nursing classes next Monday, so I guess I have gotten considerably worse with my ramblings. Everytime I see someone with scrubs, I'm like I want that to be me! I never thought of ordering a scrubs catalog. That's a really cool idea and the next thing that I'll be googling! I wish we could wear them to school, but they seem to be totally against students wearing scrubs to class. That sucks because it would eliminate going shopping, which drives me insane!

I love this website because everyone here knows what I'm going through!

OMG...I do the same thing and my husband reacts the same way!!! I've been watching that stuff for years - since high school I believe!

i'm pretty sure i'm driving my boyfriend nuts about it. but if he can talk about traafic crap (he's a civil engineer) all the time, then i can talk about nursing school. lol

I know what you mean. I am applying for entrance into LIU-Bklyn in the spring for Fall 2010. Right now I am just signed up for prereqs and I even got my books early so I can get ahead of the curve. I know what a nerd.....but if this behavior gets me into the BSN program.....

Hopefully this time next year I will be buying my scrubs for my clinicals.

Nursing school dreams ... we're in the honeymoon stage I think :) ...

I wish I could roll out of bed tomorrow and start working as a nurse, this was something I should have been doing 20 years ago but I guess I have to keep waiting .. :( ... soon enough I will be able to add RN to my name and then I will feel complete ...

I know how ya'll feel. My brothers and sisters always ask me about school and oh it is so annoying. It's like I don't want to talk about it anymore. I've told you a gazillion of things about nursing school, how about you give me advice and talk to me about how you got through college poor like me. The weird thing is that the 1brother & 1sister that I get along with the most - I am the closest to. I guess because they are interested in talking w/ me in regards to other aspects of my life.

Hang in there everyone,before you know it you will have your much deserved title!I can't believe I'm done with NS and I'm an RN now.I remember coming to this site while doing my prereqs and just waiting for the day to say I'm an RN! Stay strong and never forget these days when you do finish.always stay humble and remember how hard you worked and how bad you wanted to become a nurse!I wish you all the best

Thank goodness I am not alone. lol. I am so happy I found this site. I am so excited/nervous at the same time. I'm starting lpn classes in two months and then after that I'm going on to be an rn and I am just so excited. So many things to learn and do. I just love all of it. Good luck to you all as well.

Not only do I talk about nursing school way to much, I talk about allnurses with poeple who have no idea what it is!
