Can't stop talking about nursing school?

Published

Hello,

Is anyone out there like me. I am a prenursing student hoping to start LPN program in Jan 09. I just can't stop talking about nursing school. It's like I am one of those new mom who just can't shut up about their and new baby. I know it must get to my husband, friend, family and co workers. The thing is that I am always at school or study for my prereq classes any advice on how to start new converstation. ( I think I forgot)

HA HA!! I am the same way!!! Whenever I see someone wearing scrubs, im like hmm.. I wonder if they are an RN or CNA..etc.. I have been taking prereq's sadly for 4 yrs. so I know my family and friends are happy im finally starting NS in 5 days:balloons:!!! I find myself always talking about NS.My friend that doesnt even go to school knows all about the point system and the competetive process!! I love this sight cause I know Im not the only one!!

I had to get certified as a CNA as a prerequisite to applying into the RN program. On my first day of class, I put on my scrubs and it felt soooo good! I thought, "I look like a NURSE!" 1.gif It gets even cooler when you put your stethoscope on!

I can't wait until I can wear scrubs. I don't know why I'm sooo excited about wearing scrubs. Hahaha!

I was that same way before I became of CNA. I couldn't wait to wear the scrubs and I'm still proud to wear them.

Specializes in 2 years as CNA.
I got online a couple of weeks ago and goggled scrubs etc. Anyway, I was able to order dozens of free catalogs of scubs, nursing gear, stethoscopes, personalized nursing stuff etc. I got a couple in today, and now I am more ready then ever. They have the coolest stuff for nurses now. Designer scubs...no kidding. I am going to be styling lol.

OK, now you got my going to google them too! Now I have got to see some catalogs. Last night I went to an outlet mall that has a scrubs store and bought one pair of scrubs and a pair of crocs (well a knock off without the holes). My mom went with me (she is a nurse) and on the drive home she was talking all about how when she graduated they had to wear dresses and their nursing caps. She said that she was one of the last ones to wear her cap because she said it was such a big deal to get it and there was a ceremony and everything she just didn't want to give it up. We were then talking about how several places are banning crocs now and she was telling me how it took forever to get the administration to allow pants. She said she never could understand why a nurse would be required to wear a dress or skirt when they bend over so much....but I am thinking some man must of enjoyed it and did not want to see that go.

Perhaps the male nurses coming into the field didn't want to wear the skirts.

I got my lab manuals from the school bookstore on Monday. I already started reading them! I ordered my textbooks online and they arrive Wednesday. I can't wait to start reading ahead. Hahaha! I sound like a huge nerd when I say that to family/friends. Only my fiancee understands and of course everyone on this board. :)

I can't wait to start my last semester of prereqs! Nursing school Spring '08...here I come!

I hear you. I haven't even started pre-reqs yet but according to my sister I never shut up about school.:lol2:

wow! what a load! good luck! i purposely scheduled micro on m/w/f and a&p II on t/th. i need enough time to read and absorb all the info!

my situation is sooo pathetic that i even got my fiancee yelling "scrubs!" before i notice them. hahah! i trained him well! ;)

onlyfaith, are you a student from PGCC?

Ok, I hope I don't get in trouble for posting this link, but I found this really cool site while trying to search for Nursing catalogs. Thought some of you with your Nursing obsession would like it as well!!! :lol2:

I have had the passion to want to be a nurse for over 10 years. Now, I am not so thrilled. I guess I think about the amount of work that has to be done. I guess I will be dragging along while accomplishing my goal. I love all of the positive feedback here!!! I am kind of perking up!!!!

I watch Discovery channel like other women watch soap operas. My husband came home the other day and I was on the couch eating a sandwich and he turned and looked at the TV and saw someone having a tumor removed

He looked like this 36_19_7.gif

And then proceeded to say "I WILL BE SOO glad when you are a nurse so you won't watch that stuff at home."

I can't get enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
