Can't stop talking about nursing school?

Hello,

Is anyone out there like me. I am a prenursing student hoping to start LPN program in Jan 09. I just can't stop talking about nursing school. It's like I am one of those new mom who just can't shut up about their and new baby. I know it must get to my husband, friend, family and co workers. The thing is that I am always at school or study for my prereq classes any advice on how to start new converstation. ( I think I forgot)

I can't wait until I can wear scrubs. I don't know why I'm sooo excited about wearing scrubs. Hahaha!

I know what you mean...I find myself jealous when I see people at the gas station or store wearing scrubs...I think "Man, I can't wait til I get to be the one wearing those!!"...:lol2:

At least many of you are already taking your prerequisites this fall. I have to wait until Spring semester to start b/c of financial reasons...uuuggh! Anyway, I use this as my outlet to talk about NS to give my friends and family a break

So I'm not the only one who is excited about wearing scrubs! :lol2: I do the same thing, see others wearing scrubs, and think about how I can't wait to do it too! I also try to see if I can tell if they work for a hospital, doctor's office, or somewhere else.

I've been trying not to talk about school much because I don't want to drive anyone crazy. lol Right now I'm a little nervous because I'm waiting to hear if I'm accepted or not. Waiting is such fun, isn't it? :p

My family is about ready to shot me if I open my mouth about NS again, I have been talking about it for over a year, when I get my heart and mind set on doing something I tend to get a bit obsessive about it, which means it was probably a very good thing I found this place to talk to all of ya'll and give my family a break for awhile

OMG...I do that too...wonder where they work...in the ER? L&D? Dr.'s Office? :lol2:

I got online a couple of weeks ago and goggled scrubs etc. Anyway, I was able to order dozens of free catalogs of scubs, nursing gear, stethoscopes, personalized nursing stuff etc. I got a couple in today, and now I am more ready then ever. They have the coolest stuff for nurses now. Designer scubs...no kidding. I am going to be styling lol.

I know the feeling I missed my opportunity some years ago but not now I have come to far and getting no younger. People can't relate unless they are going through it or have already gone through it.

School starts 8/27 but my A&P and Micro classes are both on Tues and Thurs so those won't start until the 28th. I am also taking Child and Lifespan Psych and Sociology but they are on the internet.

I have got to start volunteering too. I just found out where I need to call for the hospital here, so I need to do that asap.

And I know what you mean about the naming bones, etc. I do the same thing! Or when my DH hurts himself I say oh you bumped your and whatever bone that is. Drives him nuts!

wow! what a load! good luck! i purposely scheduled micro on m/w/f and a&p II on t/th. i need enough time to read and absorb all the info!

Ha ha, funny. :lol2: I'm about to graduate in December and still talk about it all the time. I guess it's because it becomes your life and it truly does. I have a t-shirt that says Eat, Sleep, Breathe Nursing. And you will. Your life is consumed by it once you're in the program, just as much as when you're applying. I always try to be concious of it when talking to friends, family etc.. No one but your classmates will really understand. Just make sure to ask them about how they're doing sometimes too so they don't screen your calls lol!

OMG!!! Nursing is all I dream, talk and think about!!! I know that it drives my husband and family nuts but I cannot help it. Whenever I go shopping and i see people wearing scrubs it makes me enyvous and wishing that was me. I have alot of pre-reques to finish first before i can start nursing school!!! that is why i am so happy to have found this great website were i can talk about nursing and not annoy my poor family!!! :nurse::nurse:Nurses Rock!!!

I know exactly what you mean!!! I cannot wait until I can wear scrubs!!! I am a pre-nursing student and I have awhile until I start nursing school but I have already subscribe to a scrubs catalog:roll
