  2. i know the feeling math is my worst subject and the thought of taking a math class stresses and freaks me out but i figure screw it i am going for it i am starting my rn pre-reques this fall yeah!!!! i know i will never be an a student in math but i figure i can at least become a c student:eek: i know i can get math because i have before long time ago lol never did great but i still passed. you can do it just believe in yourself i wish you lots of luck:d

I feel the same way I have wanted to become a nurse since I was in high school but like you said life got in the way I am 34 married with two kids and I am starting my rn pre-reques this fall YEAH!!!!!!! I was always afraid to start nursing school because I thought I was not that smart I never did that well on tests or in school-in high school but when I started my MA program and took classes recently at my CC I did great and I never failed a test and thats because I wanted to become a nurse so bad I applied myself more then ever and study like crazy and it felt amazing to do as well as I did so dont worry with hard work and dedication you'll do great:w00t: if becoming a nurse what you want you will do great I wish you lots of luck and let me know how it goes.
  4. i hope you dont mind but i read your post and i think its great i am doing the same thing i have finished and graduated from my ma program i am now studying & waiting to take the cma exam by the aama to become a certified medical assistant and i am also starting my rn pre-reques this fall:nurse::redbeathe:yeah:i wanted to see how i did and i did better then i thought back in when i first went college and in high school i never really applied myself and did ok got by but now that i am older more mature and know what i really want i did great:yeah::d i wish you the best

I know exactly what mean I am also in my 30's and have been told by people that I shouldnt become a nurse but its my dream to become an rn I have wanted this since high school and I will not let anyone tell me different I will not work another meaningless job where I cant wait to go home. If this is want you want go for it and dont let anyone put you down for that I wish you the very best and I am sure you will make a great nurse
  6. I know exactly how you feel girl but like I have heard you are never to old to go back to school I am in my mid 30's so old LOL and I am going back to school so excited!!!!!!! I cannot wait to start if going back to school to become a nurse is what you want then go for it I am:nurse: Yeah I wish I had done this sooner but at least I am going for it now:beer::w00t:
  7. exactly you said it perfectly as an older student I know what I really want and my studies are so much more meaningful. I never really applied myself when I first started CC way back LOL:lol2: when I graduated from HS but now that I am older and more mature I have done better in school and on tests(which I used to struggle with) I know what I want and I am going for and I cannot wait until I start my rn pre-reques:yeah: thanks again for your post it is an inspiration:saint::balloons::w00t:
  8. i agree with the others dont let anyone talk you out of becoming a nurse i say go for it. i am 34 have two kids and i am starting my rn pre-reques this fall and i cannot wait until i start nursing school i am not going to let anyone tell me i cant achieve my dream becoming a nurse. i wish you lots of luck and i hope everything works out for you:o:d:clown:

  10. That is my dream to work in Labor & Delivery I too have 2 kids 8 & 6 and I am married but I am going for it one class at a time. Just take one step at a time and you will get there I cannot wait until I am an RN!!!!!!!!! I am so tried too of working jobs that go no wherethat have no meaning I am tired of sayi9ng I want to be an RN and doing nothing about it I am just going to go for it!!!! I wish you lots of luck!!!!

I am doing the same thing I already have a degree but I am going for my ADN degree that is very cost-efficent I have no idea how I can even begin to pay for a BSN program my credit is unfortunately not so great and I know I will not qualify for any private loans I feel like pulling my hair out:eek::nuke::flamesonbbut I am not giving up on my dream of becoming an RN that is all I ever wanted to be since high school. I am going to start my RN pre-reques this fall at CC wish me luck

I totally understand your pain I am in the same situation I already have my AA degree and I am going for my 2nd I will too have to go for loans and there is no way my dad would co-sign for me UGH!!!!! But do what I do dont give up just go one step at a time go for your dream I am. You can do it:yeah:My friend told me that most hospitals where I live want the RNs to have their BSN degrees but I am going for my ADN if I can achieve that I would be so happy, excited, and thrilled:eek: if the hospital wants me to have my BSN then they can help me pay for it!!!!!! I hope I have help in some way believe me I know exactly what your going through keep your head up ok let me know how it goes.
  13. my dream is to become an rn but i am not that good in math i know i will never be an a stduent but i want to at least become a solid c or even a b student. i have always struggle in math but it has been so long since i really had to do math this why i have waited so long to try for nursing school because i doubted myself but i am tired of being a "chicken" i want become an rn so much is there any tips or websites some study or learning techniques anyone can offer i would greatly appreciate any advice or tips:uhoh3:
  14. keep plugging away girl i am an older student with two kids and i am going to keep plugging away until i get into to the rn program at my school don't give up it will be so worth it in the end:yeah::)
  15. Can anyone recommend a good study for the TEAS test I want to be prepared when I eventually take the test especially when it comes to the math part UGH!!!!
