Published

hi my name is preet i went to take my nclex exam during the break time

i went to my locker to get something to eat i had a small diary i took the diary out at the same time i grab something to eat the receptionst thought i was studying she scan my diary and told me everything okie then after few days i got letter from them saying they going to canclellation of my result they give me 2 option appeal or cancle im really worried

please help what should i do what if they dont give me another chance

When I took the NCLEX I left everything unnecessary in my car, including my cell phone! Don't know why people insist on bringing something like a diary to a testing center. Seriously, just makes you wanna laugh.

Yup I took in a a wristlet that literally had a paper copy of my att, my driver's license and my keyes

I took in my ATT, ID and keys, locked the keys and ID along with my headband (which they made me remove), and my jacket in a locker and didn't go anywhere near the locker during the test.

There is no way to understand how anyone thinks they are going to cheat!

Right, I know I said this on the other post, but I'm going to repeat myself. I don't even understand what people think they are going to look up thats going to help them. You have no idea what you are going to be asked next!

I'm not convinced the intent was to cheat. Perhaps the intent (though short sighted) was to look at an inspirational quote. The fact that NCLEX study notes were written in the diary apparently irrefutable and regardless of the intent it meets the definition of cheating and accessing the diary is in direct violation of the NCLEX rules. I don't think the BoN will be as understanding as those who were caught calling friends/family/work/hospital.

Ok, so I'm going to say this right out there: the system of testing currently in place at Pearson Vue does not only ensure that those who take the NCLEX do so within the confines of the testing rules, but also eliminates those who are simply TOO STUPID to ever be considered for a professional license.

It's actually more understandable if the intent is to cheat, and was failed (caught). Less understandable is how someone could be potentially smart enough to pass a recognized nursing school program and still be THAT stupid such that these scenarios are played out.

There it is. Given what I've been reading, the only surprise I would have seen would have been if some of these people manage to NOT entangle themselves in the Hot Mess Scenario and actually survive the process. A process that apparently is pretty good at weeding out those who shouldn't even have been eligible to test in the first place.

I have no sympathy, and I don't "hope you pass" next time. I think the inability to follow some VERY simple and VERY specific test-taking rules--and doing this is incredibly important to your ability to earn a future livelihood--is telling of someone who should not be given an RN (or PN)'s responsibility over someone's life. Time for weeding.

I don't disagree.....just ouch. :)

It's a huge error in judgement to even bring a diary that had NCLEX study notes into the testing facility (considered cheating per NCSBN rules) and even worse that you CHOSE TO ACCESS this diary while on a break in the middle of your licensing exam.

It's not likely that (unless you have a lawyer that is beyond fantastic and can find some minuscule loophole in the rules ) you will be given a second chance to take the NCLEX and it is more likely that you will be barred form being a licensed nurse in the US. Whether you accessed the diary with the attempt to cheat or study is irrelevant. You agree to the rules when you check in for the NCLEX. A candidates failure to read the rules, understand the rules or ask for clarification is irrelevant as you sign a statement that you did in fact READ the rules, UNDERSTAND the rules and AGREE TO FOLLOW the rules.

I'm sorry for your poor choices but I really don't think it's too harsh if the BoN bars you from becoming a nurse.

Consult an attorney if you so desire.

Seek counseling for your depression.

Then seek academic or career counseling to see what your options are , other than nursing, moving forward. Know that this may affect your ability to become any type of licensed healthcare professional going forward. One "small" poor choice can have huge repercussions.

I agree with RNsRWe and Just Beachy! I would not want to be working a code (or anywhere else with a nurse who cuts corners or ignores the rules. I would not welcome a peer who is short on ethics.

Rules are NOT meant to be broken!!

I read this quote not long ago. Sorry, I cannot remember who said it (so I am breaking anti-plagerism rules) but it fits so well, I have to share! "It's impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius".

I don't disagree.....just ouch. :)

Sometimes you gotta rip off the bandaid to start the healing. I am blunt, I don't apologize for that...but I ALWAYS speak the truth.

I have just one more consideration for you all.

Schools of nursing are charged with the responsibility of only passing students who meet all standards of passing: written and verbal standards, clinical standards, ethical standards.

The NCLEX-RN is designed to pass only those who meet the minimum standards of competency for entry to practice for RNs.

It is therefore up to individual State BONs to determine WHO will receive a license. For them, once the SCHOOL has said "yep" and the NCLEX has said "yep", sometimes there are those for whom a "NOPE!!" is in full order.

And the inability to follow clear-cut and simple directives is a pretty strong indicator of someone who should NOT receive a license. Thank heaven they ARE there!

I saw them tell a girl to take off her sling and looked in her cast. I saw them cancel a guy's test because he "brain dumped" before the test began. I had take off my watch, necklace, earrings. They pulled my long hair up as well. I thought I was being sentenced to prison. I was out of there in two hours. Oh yes, we had to spit out our gum too.

Brain dumped? Curious.
