please help what should i do what if they dont give me another chance

If you had no notes related to the exam, appeal against it. If you did, it all depends on what was on it and if you were caught studying, if the person took a copy of what was in your diary and there was info related to the exam. You might be as well to choose the cancelation and find out where you go from there. Did they give you a phone number or email so you could find out what your best course of action is?

When I went through my NCLEX (PN and RN) exams, I only bought a bottle water, and my purse with all my belongings was locked up; I never had to access any of the items, however, I read the rules thoroughly from the website and made sure that I needed to adhere to it; I did not want to invalidate my exam results.

The rules are accessible to everyone who prepares to take the exam; it behooves the person taking the exam to look at the rules thoroughly before taking exam, nervous or not:

on that diary when i was study i was writen a some notes pls frds me help now but can i do. m so worried m going to depression

Per this post, it appears that you used the "diary" for studying; which is a no-no.

Cancel your results and take it again; moving forward, prepare for the exam and show up for the exam with your ID and the clothes on your back, and a bottled water; a small snack if you think you are going to be there longer than 2 hours.

These are the people who should be working for the TSA!! I felt like a criminal too but really the women were so very nice but the hand scanning (6x total, I think) was unnerving!!

Your going to be lucky if they only cancel your results. Based on your quoted statement you accessed notes that you used to study. That is considered cheating. If there was any evidence that nursing or NCLEX prep info was in your diary you can be barred by the BoN from ever being a nurse. Cheating has zero tolerance. I'm going by what you posted above and if there were study notes in the diary, I'm sorry but the BoN may take action against your pending application and bar you from becoming a nurse in that and any other state.

Simple answer is read the rules, follow the rules & suggestions and you will be fine.

Per the NCSBN rules linked above re: accessing a diary that contains notes:

A candidate who violates the test center regulations or rules, or engages in irregular behavior, misconduct and/or does not follow the TA's warning to discontinue inappropriate behavior may be dismissed from the test center and their exam fee will not be refunded. Additionally, your exam result may be withheld or canceled and your board of nursing/regulatory body may take other disciplinary action such as denial of a license/registration and/or disqualifying you from future NCLEX registrations for licensure/registration.

Behaviors that are considered to constitute irregular behavior or misconduct include but are not limited to:

Giving or receiving assistance of any kind

Using, accessing, or attempting to access any prohibited aids. Prohibited aids are any devices or materials that will be helpful in taking the NCLEX. Examples of aids that are prohibited are electronic devices (e.g. cell/mobile phones, PDAs, hand held computers, etc.), handheld calculators, conversion tables, dictionaries, etc.

Bringing any NCLEX study aids (textbooks, notebooks, classroom notes, etc.) to the testing center or accessing or attempting to access such study materials at any time after the start of the examination administration, including break times.

If it's determined notes were in the diary you may be barred from taking the exam ever again or ever obtaining a US nursing license. Harsh? Not really if you access notes during any exam it's cheating

I have to say that this looks very suspiciously like attempted cheating. The fact that they're giving you the option to cancel the result and retest later means that you have a chance. It may be that perhaps the proctor didn't see any notes that may have been written inside... so they may only be sanctioning you for accessing material that you were instructed not to while you were being tested. If this is the case, you should feel extremely lucky/grateful that's all they're doing. They can prohibit you from ever becoming a nurse based on this. This effectively throws all the time, effort, and money you put into schooling to become a nurse into the trash. You will have your earned degree, but no license to speak of. I don't think you want that to be your result. Next time, should you be granted a second attempt, follow the rules to the letter.

The rules are pretty clear before you ever even walk into the testing center. Just read them.

Don't ever appeal this. The fact is that your diary has some "notes." you may never ever have a chance to take a test again. just cancel it and schedule to take it again if that is an option. you should be happy coz they gave u the options! get over it and good luck

Depends on your speed, people have had it stop at a 75 questions and it took them an hour, and people have gone all the way to 265 questions and taken 4-6 hours.

I did 265 in 1.5 hours, mainly because I was sick as a dog and didn't know if I was going to puke or pass out. I was on a ton of cold meds and taking the test out of state. I'm always a fast test taker but that was the record. After it was over I was convinced I failed and cried on the phone in the bathroom. Somehow I passed thank God!

I can't believe anybody gives them any opportunity to ding 'em.

Even snacks... For goodness sake, we're talking about a few hours here... Pretty sure most can go for hours without eating.

And accessing a phone or diary? Foolish.

Walk in with nothing, talk to noone, and take your exam without a break. Don't create any opportunity for trouble.

OP, you messed up. Learn your lesson and be more careful in the future.

Appeal/cancel is usually from NCSBN/Pearson and then the report is forwarded to the BoN. There is still the risk of BoN action described above even if the poster just accepts the result cancellation. It seems options are cancel or appeal not cancel & retest or appeal. Only the BoN can make the determination if a candidate can retest a cancelled exam due to violation of rules. (Tests cancelled due to computer glitch, weather, power outages the candidate is permitted to retest at no charge. )

I just don't want the OP to assume that by accepting the result cancellation that they will automatically be able to retake the exam. It's up to the board of nursing. Several have accepted result cancellations over the years. Some can retest. Some must wait a year or two and reapply to retake the NCLEX and others were barred from licensure as a nurse and had to find a new career.
