Anyone get their Booster yet?

Published

I'm scheduled for 11/3- the day before my bday- hopefully I do not feel crummy the next day.  I was tired and had a headache after my first two but nothing terrible, and Moderna is a half dose for the booster so hopefully won't be too bad.  I have had a lot more exposure in the recent weeks due to increasing case numbers and me being assigned to help with TTS, etc., so I definitely want to make sure I am as protected as possible. I think I am the first in my cohort who wants to get a booster.

Update: I did have some fatigue for about 2 days. The sore arm went away much more quickly than the prior 2 doses.

I had my booster this past Friday (10/29/21). All 3 shots were Moderna. I was tired and had mild achiness on Saturday and that was all. The second shot was much worse for me. this was nothing.

Got it a week ago (Pfizer #3). No previous Covid infection. The reaction was pretty much like shot #2. Fever, aches, headache x 24 hrs and then I was fine.

@Kitiger "I got my third Pfizer shot on 9-27-21, along with my second Shingles shot, and my flu shot".

You go!! All of them at once, way to step up! I was able to get the flu vaccine, but I'm waiting to get over a virus so I can get Covid #3. I wish there was a vaccine for the virus I'm currently experiencing! ?️

Shingles vaccine... you must be at least 50 years old to be covered.

My spouse had his booster (Pfizer) and had no issues at all.

We both went for our Moderna booster last night. Both had kinda sore arms when we got up this morning. I’m on industrial strength OTCs for postop ortho pain so I’m not likely to get a fever anyway. We’ll see how he feels when he gets home from work this afternoon, but neither of us had much reaction from the originals so I’m not anticipating much now.

Update:  Happy to report I got my booster yesterday at 3:30 pm.  Moderna, same as my first two.  Other than quite a bit of pain with the medicine going into my arm and some throbbing after, I have been fine.  I felt tired last night but honestly I am tired most afternoons, LOL.  Glad I am boostered!

No residual after-effects, just like after my first one. Nada. That was my main reason for staying with J&J rather than mixing/matching.

I received my booster last week with only a sore arm to report.

In the states vaccines are covered by insurance 100% as preventive.

Nope. Medicare does not cover Shingrix given in a doctor's office. Private insurance and Medicaid due as long as person is over 50 and over. Part D Medicare plans will cover in a pharmacy with a co-pay that varies based on part D plans. It's something like 450 bucks each dose without any insurance coverage.

So weird. Just got my booster 1.5 hours ago (Moderna) and felt literally nothing during the injection. First two felt varying degrees of pain during injection, second one I think got a nerve or something as felt a sensation like electrical shock from the injection site down to fingers during injection.
