Anyone get their Booster yet?

Published

I'm scheduled for 11/3- the day before my bday- hopefully I do not feel crummy the next day.  I was tired and had a headache after my first two but nothing terrible, and Moderna is a half dose for the booster so hopefully won't be too bad.  I have had a lot more exposure in the recent weeks due to increasing case numbers and me being assigned to help with TTS, etc., so I definitely want to make sure I am as protected as possible. I think I am the first in my cohort who wants to get a booster.

I got mine yesterday, felt nothing, just like the first 2 rounds. I woke up this morning with a 104.3 temp, dizzy, blurred vision, teeth chattering so hard that hubby thought I was going to break off my teeth. Not sure that I'm going to keep abusing myself like this. I feel horrible, and am expected to work today regardless

Nope. Medicare does not cover Shingrix given in a doctor's office. Private insurance and Medicaid due as long as person is over 50 and over. Part D Medicare plans will cover in a pharmacy with a co-pay that varies based on part D plans. It's something like 450 bucks each dose without any insurance coverage.

I'm under 40 and have had shingles 3x and am now on an immunomodulator and so it was recommended I get Shingrix, but I can't even get a pharmacy in my area to give it to me, even if I pay out of pocket. It isn't approved for use in people under 50. I did see that in Canada, with my particular diagnosis I can get it when I turn 40, so I may be planning a trip (and a return trip) in a few years and may just slip into a pharmacy up there while I'm at it hahaha

We (70, 86) got ours about a week and a half ago. We had pretty much no bad effects from our original 2 Modernas last Spring, just a day of fatigue-ish, no fevers. We had our boosters at about 7:00pm, had a normal evening and went to bed. Next day we both felt a bit fatigued but that was it. Next day, back to work (yes, we are both still working part time).

I returned to work today after fevers >103, N/V/D, blurred vision, dizzy, and weakness. I had Moderna first 2, Pfizer booster. My PCP has said no more
