So how are my fellow pre-nursing students doing in A&P 1? We are in week 6 and are finishing up chapter 9 of Saladin's text, and our 2nd exam should be next friday, but we will find out for sure later on this week. So far I am doing good, Got my first test back and I received an A. :) I am a little nervous about the tissues, I HATE histology, a necessary evil I suppose. Our first lab practical is next week and I am extremely nervous about that. Any pointers besides relax?
A&P is easy and depends on how committed one is to the class. I really hate when people complain about their teacher when they don't get the grade they want. What a lame excuse for one's laziness
I totally agree with you! You can have the worst instructor in the world, but if you study the text and form study groups and take all the tools out there, you can still do very well. I have my final on Wednesday evening and I am soo ready! :) It a cumulative final, but I did so well on the other tests, that I don't have to try to re-study and just review those sections. :) Thank Goodness, gives me more time to study for my Chem final and finish papers for my English class. I can't wait for AP 2! I hear it's pretty tough (esp Endocrine System), but I think if I stick with the studying techniques I used for AP 1, I should be able to do just as well, maybe even better! :) I am hoping to finish with a 3.8 in the class. I was shooting for a 4.0, but I didn't get 100% on all my lab quizzes and got low A's on my practicals. I will keep ya updated on final grades. :)
I should get a B for the semester. I struggled a lot with the lab portion, partially because of a horrible professor and partially due to my lab partners BOMBING their sections of a group lab paper. I'm doing great in the lecture portion and am at the top of the class. Hopefully a B is high enough to get into the program I'm trying for.
Hopefully I will get out of this class with a B, but only by the skin of my teeth! I am studying right now for my final, which thankfully is not cumulative. I really ate some humble pie in this class and may have learned the hard lesson that it pays to study extra hard when and where it counts. Even with a B, my GPA might just end up being too low for nursing school....
I'm waiting to see what I got on the A&P lab final! the lec. final is next weds. for me! I'm hoping to make it out of both with a B!!! (praying.. lol)!!! Good Luck all!! :) I signed up for A&P 2 next semester..and lab and I'm planning on taking those and those ONLY! so I can put everything into it!!
I am getting an A... 874/900 points.
I made 345/340 points in Lab, 103/100 points on the bone test (there were 5 bonus points). I didn't even study for the final because I only needed 32 points on it for an A and I got a 95! I love this stuff and I just seem to soak it up like a sponge. I was also taking College algebra, General psychology, and Nurse assisting skills (8 weeks at the begining of the semester).
A little bummed out............I made an A in A&P 1. I just found out today and I was sooo excited!! I couldn't believe it. I worked so hard this semester. I have studied endless hours almost every day. I also have 2 very small kids, whom I've missed out on a bunch of their activities. Anywho...my best friend is going to school for nursing too. She finished up all of her prereqs this semester. So technically she is 2 classes ahead of me. I need AP2 and Micro...
anywho, we were talking about grades and she asked me how I did. She made a B, in AP1,2, and Micro. and she told me that my A was good, but that her advisor told her that they look at the professor you took and how hard they teach/test. So she was basically saying that her B is better than my A. I was really upset at that point. Does anyone know if that is true? I mean I'm sure each school is different, but I would think when they are trying to narrow down 800 applicants to 155 that they dont look to see what teacher you took and how hard they are. Thanks!

I have never heard of a thing like that.
Also a lot of students don't always know the level of difficulty a professor is for a certain class, they just pick them based on their schedules. So if the professor is too easy, then that is the college's fault for hiring them
