I am at the campus in southfield. I like OCC. I don't really have any complaints about it. How does the nursing program work at Baker? Do they offer ADN program or just BSN. Is there a waiting list. speaking of that that is the only downfall with OCC you pretty much have to finish every single last on of your pre-reqs before you can even apply to the Nursing Program. So I am attending two school. I am taking Pharmacology at Henry Ford because I am on the waiting list over there. I am hoping to get accepted this Fall or the winter at the latest.
Baker does not have a waiting list, you do however have to finish all your pre-req's before you can apply. They pick the top 30 people per semester based on your GPA, and your score from your NEX. THey offer both ADN and BSN. I really like it, the classes are so small (25-30 students) and the teachers really want you to suceed and will help you out in anyway.
how many pre-req's do you have left? I will be applying to the program at the end of my fall semester.

Hey all- I found a site that has A & P in tape!!

    http://www.audiotexttapes.net/guides.htm

I will be buying this week and once I get it I will let you know what I think of it.

Has anyone ever used these before?

Has anyone done this yet? We have to memorize 150 veins and arteries and that is our first practicum.

Looking for any help or tips or anything that will help!!!

Any websites that quiz you on them?

I had to memorize alot of arteries and veins and totally wasn't prepared for the exam. My advice would be to study regularly and know how your instructor's going to test (pictures or models) and then study off of what the instructor tests off of.

Well that depends. If I stayed and tried to finish out at OCC I would have to take Nutrition, Microbiology and another Chemistry class. But since I am on the waiting list at HFCC I will be finished with all pre-reqs except Life Span Development. At HFCC you do not need to take Nutrition or Micro. I am just hoping to get through my A&P 2 class. I don't know what is wrong with my brain I just can't seem to get motivated anymore in that class. I think last semester really burnt me out. It sucks I need to get back in the mode, becasue I received a 75 on my first test I can't wait for this semester to be done with. We are just on the Cardiovascular system Heart/ Blood vessels. I feel like I am lost already. Well I wish you luck for your future plans.

wait 150?? Maybe I'm miscounting or my teacher is leaving more than a few out, but 150?

    Wow, that's quite a few.

Yep, it's 150 that we need to memorize. She will basically be using the pics from the textbooks and we have to label them with no wordbank. Uggghhh.

I know this will be tons harder than the bones and I am not looking forward to it. Test is in 3 weeks.

That is alot of veins to memorize. Are you in medical school?

No med school, just a local community college and a prof. (female) that has high standards as she is Harvard educated and amazing! He husband invents medical devices for the heart, etc. and she really does not need to teach but does so because she loves it. I am very lucky to have her!

On the other hand, on our regular tests she does let us have a cheat sheet and I found out I can write smaller than I ever thought possible!!

Today was the cutoff for the nursing program apps so I should know in 2 weeks if I got accepted, I am PRAYING!

    Hey everyone,

I also made it into the second half of A&P!!!! we have a test next week over the arteries and veins, we have to know roughly about 100 of them. (pain in the neck) We have lab books and also some kinda cd that the instructor insisted that we buy, I think it came in real handy. But anyways, count me in as one of them who made it half way!
