well, it's about time to start this thread, i think!! let's get our bearings and see who all is in the same boat in january!

i finish up the first half of a&p with a comprehensive exam on december 13th and then it's right into the physiology portion of the course. we actually are starting special senses this week and next but will only get the first chapter done.

so .... who else is in? when did you take a&p i and how is your course set up? do you have the prof you want and are you looking forward to it?

i will include the sites from the a&p i thread that might be helpful! i will add/subtract as i get a chance to look through them a bit more or if anyone else suggests some good sites.

I have my first quiz tonight, which covers the entire endocrine system. I'm pretty nervous, so wish me luck!

Specializes in Pediatric/Adolescent, Med-Surg.

I just took my first lab exam. All I can say is I hope I didn't screw it up too badly. I'm trying to be optimistic and hope I got a B or C but I'm not sure. There were approximately 100 questions, half practical (identifying slides, parts on models, etc) and half was written (matching, true/false, multiple choice). I feel that I did ok on the written, but may have screwed the practical... :uhoh21:

good luck i am sure you'll do fine.

Hi all, I am new to this forum. I am taking A&P II now and CHE 1000. It's really hard work but with the help of you all I am sure I'll do fine.

Welcome Ayznquen. I saw that you are from Detroit. Well so am I. What school are you going to. I am attending OCC. I am also in A&P II now, and this website really does help. Well I wish you the best of luck!!!

Did the quiz... I think I did pretty well. I know I missed 2 (out of 20, I think). But I think I got the rest or most of them right.

We started on the heart tonight right after that. Whew! So much information!

Specializes in OR Peri Operative.

so far have had 2 tests, the first one I missed 4 out of 20 and then the 2nd one I missed 3/20. So not bad so far, plus my teacher usually has extra credit points so you can make it up. The heart is soo in-depth, but interesting.

Lab is more fun this semester than last. We are doing more cutting and expierements. So far we cut into a pig heart, we also got to learn how to take blood pressures, and then we did the blood test (with our own blood) that was cool.

This weeks chapter still talks about the heart a little bit, but it talks about how it works with the ECG and EKG and how to read the P, QRS, T. I think I have it down pretty good. :)

well, have a great weekend everyone and good luck studying for your quizzes. :D

Cool your from michigan too :)

How is OCC?? I'm going to Baker and it is awesome, I love the teachers and class size :) Just wondering what your thoughts of OCC are, I have a few people in my class that went to OCC last year and hated it, I know it is a matter of preference but just curious to how you think it is.

which campus you at??

Good luck in A&PII

OK, so who's dying besides me? LOL. First test is Feb 13th in lecture. I gotta say we're covering alot for the first test, my brain hurts. :uhoh3:

How often does your teacher test you all?? It seems like he/she goes over quit a bit before testing you. My teacher tests us once a week in the chapter we just went over (in lecture) and lab is every other week. I would be going crazy too if I was in your shoes. Good luck with your test, you will do fine just relax and it will come to you.

Haven't had time to post since school started! I just finished my 2nd week of A&P2. We are doing the endocrine system, and it's pretty interesting, other than trying to memorize all the hormones!

We only have four tests in the semester in class, and 4 practicals in lab. The best part is that our final exam isn't comprehensive!!!!!! Gotta love it!!!

Hi all. Im Becky. I am taking A&P I and A&P 2 this semester. I have my first lecture and lab test Monday so I am studying like crazy. We only have 3 tests and 3 lab tests for our entire grade so if ya fail one its all over. I am working on memorizing the eye and ear right now. Any good nmeonics you might know? Thanks in advance Becky

I am taking A&P 2 this semester, I started January 24th. I am doing Endocrine System, which is not too bad.

Becky, I just finished A&P II. I went to open lab hours on Saturdays and looked reviewed all the parts before any lab practical. It really helped. She also let us take home our "body parts" (brain, eye, kidneys) since we "bought them". I still have them in my car. Just spend hands on time with the different parts. Good luck.
