You know you are a Nursing student when...

Some of you probably have seen a thread like this already.

I put this one up to "freshen-up" the forum.

I am pretty sure everyone has at least something they can throw up onto here.

So, I ask you fellow nursing student (or nursing student alumni)....what makes a Nursing student....erm...a Nursing student?

:yeah:

Specializes in Emergency/Cath Lab.

You know you're a nursing student when...

  • ...

  • ...you start naming your pets after drugs.

And my friend still doesnt get it when I call him names like Lasix and HCTZ because he literally has to **** all the time.

Specializes in Mental Health; Medical-Surgical/Trauma.

There's at least one room in your house filled with textbooks, stacked with an insane amount of papers, power points, floor covered with pens, highlighters etc.

...you have to purchase a new bookshelf just for your first semester books.

I'm going to be making some arrangements in my current study area so it becomes a true study area. :D

Specializes in Labor and Delivery.
Oh wow. Extra stress not needed. Understood. I can only imagine how mad I'd be... You'll get through it. You'll laugh about it one day.

I actually did laugh since there was nothing else I could do..and you know what???? I got a 95% on that final woohoooo!!!!!! So I survived :)

I love the one that said "You're proud that you can spell diarrhea" :yeah:

damn I hate that word...I can never spell "diarrhea" or "restaurant"

Thank God for spell check!!!

"...you are proud of the fact that you can spell diarrhea."

Omg these are hilarious!! I loved so many of them and so many of them rang true for me and my NS buddies. We graduate in a week and a half and we recently sent in submissions to have a class book made-wish I would have found this sooner, everyone would've enjoyed these so much! Thanks for sharing and I'll add some of my own in a bit but for now I have to get back to studying (yep I'm supposed to get up in 3 hrs to get ready for class-ugh, but here I sit!).

Specializes in Med-Surg and Ambulatory Care (multispecialty).

Love, love, LOVE all of these!!:yeah: I begin this Fall and all your comments have made my day, made me laugh until I cried & given me hope that I won't be the only out there doing these crazy things. Best of luck to everyone!!

When you start diagnosing yourself, your friends, your dog, snake and cat.

When answering Nclex questions on facebook is a break.

When it makes your day when the nurse you are shadowing complements your critical thinking skills.

I'd be more concerned if I had to use those two words together in one sentence ;)

when learning how to empty a colostomy bag with ease was the highlight of your week.

...and you have to text all your nursing buddies to tell them about it! but your boyfriend's appetite is GONE as you tell him about it on the way to dinner :lol2:

Very true and what's worse is I'm a server in a restaurant!

I am the worst seller ever. On my micro midterm I write, "sorry in advance for spelling errors!" My teachers laugh and think its funny! Of course she isn't an English teacher so she understands.

Can't wait until I'm in NS!

...when you have conversations like this with your non-nursing friends:

friend: my class is soo early!

me: what time?

friend: 8 a.m.!

me: trying being at a hospital at 6:30 a.m. ready to start your day! :nurse:
