Ok, AN, it's guilty pleasure time. What do you do that you know as a nurse you shouldn't? Chain smoke? Binge drink on the weekends? Lecture a patient on a healthy lifestyle then go home and slam down a whole mac-n-cheese pizza? Ride your kick-a** donorcycle to work? Do back flips on your trampoline while juggling swords?
Out with it!
My thing? Camming, of course.
I did actually lol while at work. hahahaha, why is this such a thing now?!
I avoid PAP smears or any GYN exam like they are the plague. Idk what I'm going to do when I decide to have children
SAME! My doctor and his PA are both WONDERFUL and have some of the highest ratings in my area, but I just really, really, REALLY hate people being all up in my "business" that I don't really want in it lol!
I eat fatty foods and don't exercise. I put off going to the GYN and am terrified of dentists.
OTOH, I don't smoke or drink. I'm good about taking my meds as ordered every day, going to my PCP and psychiatrist appointments, and maintaining as stress-free a lifestyle as I can. I get lab work done as requested and don't even fuss if they don't find the vein the first couple of times. My A1C is 5.8 so I'm doing something right as far as my diabetes is concerned. So if I have the occasional bacon cheeseburger and fries, I'm not going to feel too guilty. (Well, OK, it's more than occasional.....)
-Used to drink way too much (I cut that out completely about a month ago).
-I drink way too much coffee
-I have an ongoing love affair with cheese and trashy tabloids (MMMMMM fat)
-I have recently adopted the fairly disgusting habit of drinking an entire pickle jar's worth of juice after long bike rides (MMM SALT)
On the positive, I don't smoke, I actually exercise and do yoga for stress relief and musculoskeletal issues, and I get more sleep than I did as a hospital nurse or in nursing school.
