I'm just curious to know what other side jobs nurses out there are doing, whether you're doing nursing full time, part time, or per diem. It doesn't have to be nursing related either!
No license yet either,:cry:my side job is a hospice aide(love this job and it pays better) and my main gig is aide on med/surg floor at the local hospital(took this job so that I could start building tenure someplace and so that I could have my foot in door after NCLEX), however the pay is awful:no:
I've done photography professionally before becoming a nurse, but it's an expensive hobby (er... profession). I've jokingly said that I had decided to be a nurse to fund my photography habit. While I LOVE nursing, and it is #1... I really do use it to fund my studio photography. I now have a studio in my garage. I take co-workers photographs from time to time (especially this time of year!).
I work full time as a psych nurse. On the side, I am a freelance writer and I also tutor nursing students I am also a mentor for students attending the RN to BSN program from which I graduated.
I give you credit if I worked as a psych nurse my side job would be as a professional booze taster!
