whats for lunch

Sometimes I have no clue what to pack for cold lunches for work. If I don't have leftovers I never know what to bring. Sandwhichs get so old.

So what do you like to bring for lunch. I feel I need some inspiration.

New grads that can't put 2+2 together.

What leads you to believe this is a new grad?

It is tough. I run out of ideas often as well. Cottage cheese is my saving grace. I can eat it with just about anything. Peanut butter also goes a long way for me. I do try to always make extra when I cook so I have leftovers.

Not that it matters WHAT I bring for lunch as it takes me about 2.5 seconds to eat whatever I bring!

I wash blueberries and other fruit, pack it in individual containers, and grab one out of the fridge on my way out the door. I eat the fruit with yogurt. Lots of citrus, apples. Flax seed. Cheese sticks. When I wash the berries, petite carrots, etc., I always put a paper towel in the plastic container along with the food; it keeps it fresher and the food doesn't go bad.

If I don't have any leftovers to bring, I usually grab some crackers and string cheese along with some fruit or yougert.

They mean they eat new grads for lunch hahaha

I mostly bring leftovers. Sometimes from eating out and sometimes from a big dish of something that I cook at the beginning of the week. Everyone here has had good suggestion regarding quick, high energy snacks.

Thanks all this was helpful.

I am a CNA in home care and sometimes I feel awkward at what to bring. I feel apprehensive at times and want to minimize what I bring. Probably silly of me because I will do anything to make what my clients want for their meals but I feel different for me. Sometimes if I can I just wait till I get home to eat. Like with one of m;y clients I have a 5pm-8pm. I fix their meal but I wait to get home and just have a late meal.

But other times when I have an 8+ hour day I have no choice but to bring something to eat

Notice how I said "new grads that can't put 2+2 together." I didn't say that new grads can't put 2+2 together. The new grads that can't put 2+2 together are the ones that I eat. No point eating nurses with any sort of experience or new grads that have their stuff together.

Hard to imagine *not* having a clue what to bring for lunch!

Lean Cuisine usually 10/$10. Or on sale for 88cents. Stick one or two of 'em in the cooler along with a fat free yogurt. Apple, banana, or orange from the fruit bowl and I'm good for 12 hours.

I have become a big fan of those Starkist or Chicken of the Sea tuna and salmon "pouches".....they are super easy to tote, & you don't have to drain them! (And they seem to be on sale every other week  . )

Also you may like the Sabra hummus-and-pretzels combination packs, very convenient & tasty. I also love string cheese, Greek yogurt, and Babybel Light cheese.

Hummus, raw veggies, whole grain crackers, and a piece of fruit.
