  1. Hello - I get pop-ups on every page as well - and interestingly, when I click the small " x " to close the pop-up, it only ever opens the pop-up. Every. Single. Time. Also, when I try to log in, I get the "oops, something went wrong " message probably 10 times before I can actually get logged in. 🤔
  2. Thank you, Rose_ Queen ! Could you remind me how to become a member of the Daily Diary club? I was able to " find" Daily Diary by clicking on my Activity, but it's not showing when I click on Clubs. Thank you!
  3. Not sure what all that is up above ! I was trying to quote dianah's first statement :) Anyway, I have the same problem....I ended up having to search for a frequent Daily Diary poster's username , and clicked on an entry where someone else mentioned the poster's username. It worked - after dozens of attempts to get logged in. ( I kept getting a message that my password was incorrect.) I miss No Stars !
  4. (((((ADO))))) Hugs to you and your family.
  5. Stars, I swooned over Alan Rickman as Colonel Brandon in the Emma Thompson / Kate Winslet version of " Sense and Sensibility"! That voice ! My then - boyfriend got miffed with me because I kept talking about how handsome Mr. Rickman was, and all the English charm he possessed. It's one of my favorite movies.
  6. That is hilarious, Ado ! Naughty little kitties ? Hopefully your hubby wasn't too upset. I had the same thing happen years ago - my cats knocked over my little artificial tree, and scattered ornaments all over the living room. But they had fun, I'm sure !
  7. I recently received my flu and Covid injections at a local pharmacy. The pharmacist pinched my skin both times. We were busy chatting, and I didn't think much of it. I had a hard lump (about the size of a pea) in the arm where she injected the flu vaccine. It slowly dissipated over the next two days. This was not the first time I had the little lump under the skin, as I've received many, many flu vaccines! I have administered hundreds of flu shots in my 33 years of nursing, and as bluescoop said, it's OK. ? Best wishes.
  8. I always thought "OG" meant Original Gangster.....also, I am proud member of the COB club ?
  9. I completely agree with you- family time , your private outside-of-work-life, is sacred. This kind of on call requirement is unacceptable. When I was on call, I couldn't plan certain things, couldn't travel too far, couldn't commit to helping my sister out with childcare....on and on. Do you think it would be worth it to speak to management about your concerns? I wish you the best, whatever you decide.
  10. Allnurses is a safe place to vent, nighttech , so vent away ! You are doing very difficult and very important work. It is absolutely heartbreaking , to see that younger and younger teens ( and pre-teens) are committing serious and violent crimes. I live in a large Midwestern city, and a co - worker of mine is part of an inner city program devoted to reaching at - risk young men before they go down a criminal path. He told me he took a handgun from a nine- year - old last week! Agree 100% with the shout - out to all the social workers ?
  11. Bless you, for the work that you do ! You are most definitely dealing with a lot of potentially explosive situations, not only are they teenagers, but they are likely very upset about being in the juvenile detention center, as well. I hadn't even thought about all those times ! Definitely had my share of those confused older gentlemen who would take advantage of the fact that both my hands were engaged ( such as while suctioning, or administering a bolus tube feeding) ...one of them would always say " But I love you ! " when asked to please refrain from groping his nurse. ?
  12. Hello nighttech - For years, I worked in one of the first facilities in my city that was devoted to caring for patients with a dx. of Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. It was quite a new concept at the time, as prior to that, patients dx'd with dementia were often medicated ( sedated) and restrained virtually 24 / 7. In this new facility, there were zero restraints (such as Posey vests) , and PRN medications for "behaviors" were not often used. It was VERY common for staff to be assaulted by confused patients. Personally I have been bitten ( it's amazing how much it can hurt, to be bitten by someone with no teeth!), choked with my stethoscope ( I stopped wearing it around my neck after that), had hair pulled , been scratched and kicked. One STNA had his shoulder dislocated, and a nurse on my unit sustained serious injuries after a very confused patient picked up a ( heavy ) pill crusher and hit the nurse in the back of the head and hit again a bit lower, fracturing vertebrae C-6, C-7, and T - 1. I hope your eye is OK ! abbnurse ?
  13. I believe it was " Brother Taylor" stopped by and said he thought he saw a girl that " looked a lot like you" and that she and Billy Joe were throwing something off the bridge. I always wondered about that !
