There's been a lot of rants and vents about nursing, but let's focus on the odd tasks that make you happy. Maybe you love post-OP patients or CRRT or giving bed baths...what's something that makes you happy?
Personally, I love enteral feedings. I love placing NGs and Dobhoffs. I love Kangaroo pumps, I love crushing meds, and flushing the line with 30 ccs. I love hearing the whoosh when I check placement q 4 h. It's my favorite thing!

I'm almost done with orientation and my preceptor is HARD. But she about cried the other day walking into my room and all my IVPBs were organized together, lines labeled, refill bags on deck, etc. It was such a good feeling. I'm a hoe for an organized ICU room lol

You are a great nurse. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️?♀️
I like seeing stuff come up when I suction an ETT.
I like making my patient a nice bed with clean, matching cute linens. And getting my babies all snuggled up with their positioning aides to make them look all cozy (im in NICU)...it’s very satisfying. NICU nurses are very anal about their linens and bed appearance!
I'm not a nurse quite yet, a soon to be graduate, but I enjoy pushing meds. Not entirely sure why, but I like doing IVP. I also like bathing patients, especially when they resist a bath at first but after they're happy and they feel good.
I also enjoy watching people start an IV line. It just looks cool.

In dialysis, PCTs do the cannulations. I love to cannulate and work as a tech occasionally
