Yes. The mocking is a non-newsworthy characterization of a cable news personality and speculation about the Biden Presidency for the entertainment of their audience.

Have interactions between the executive branch and selected press always troubled you?

Speaking of mocking and Fox News, one of the morning hosts made a rather bizarre claim about Christmas trees:

Ainsley Earhardt on the Fox Christmas tree: "It's a tree that unites us. It brings us together. It's about the Christmas spirit. It is about the holiday season. It's about Jesus. It's about Hanukkah. It is about everything that we stand for as a country."

I know I'm not very religious, but I do know that Hanukkah is not Jewish Christmas.

It's not the first time that their hosts have expressed some odd beliefs about the Winter holidays on air. Do you remember when Megyn Kelly insisted that Santa and Jesus were white?

She us such a lost cause.  It embarrasses me to watch her as a representative of our sex.  The ultimate dumb Barbie Doll.  I guess the Viaga customers who watch Fox thinks she the perfect woman.  Double DD and double dumb:)

Oh, I missed the singing.  Can you link it, because it doesn't seem to be in any of the videos in the article you posted.

Or is that not in a literal sense but rather like "singing (gas prices?) praise".

Clearly they seemed pleased about it and were smiling and reporting what they think is good news.  "Gushing and singing"?  That's a matter of opinion.  Again, I can't tell you or anyone how to view the world.

But yes, I understand they are mocking them being happy about the lower gas prices.  Aren't you at leased somewhat pleased at this direction?  But I guess it's better to report it the way they did, rather than gush about it.   Seems they predicted it, but aren't reporting that it's actually happening.

I certainly can't get excited about it as the reporters seem to be, because I know the ups and downs of the pump and I'm generally a pessimistic about he world and the people in it.  Next week it will be back up.  But like the reporter said, I can just stop and be happy about a little good news.  Given the Winter season coming up and the booming economy and people traveling for the holidays I expect gas prices to remain high and/or rise.

But the reporters "doing the White House's bidding" is a bit over the top. But I can't tell people how to interpret the world as they see it.

Two high profile cases end with guilty verdicts.

Smollett found guilty of lying to police in his hoax.  No surprise here.  I wonder what was he thinking in the first place.  I hope he can get some mental health help.

Josh Duggar found guilty of child Mediaography charges.  I hope he rots in jail for a long time.

Singing maybe not the right description. I don't know what to call it.  It was a short musical vocalization?

Anyway, yes they were very jubilant.  Hard to imagine they found such joy in reporting anything that happened during the last administration,  such as record unemployment numbers.

"Very jubilant" is not how I would describe it.

The media very frequently reported the good economy under Trump.  It's not like the economy was tanking and made a turn around.  It was an ongoing recovery so that's not a good example.

Still here's a CNBC story of the time and the reporter isn't acting very jubilant and sounds kind of flat.  Fox News was jubilant in their reporting of Trump though.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/07/how-trump-has-set-economic-growth-on-fire.html

But this reporter was a bit more enthusiastic saying "wow!"in May 2019

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/trump-s-economy-roaring-will-it-carry-him-2020-n1001691

But perhaps you were talking CNN and not other MSM. I'm sure you're right.  Even when they gushed about the economy they found a way to dig at Trump like below.  It is fair to say that CNN was decidedly anti-Trump and now they lean towards Biden.

I'm guessing that I'm interpreting your reference to "record unemployment numbers" incorrectly since the record that Trump set was the largest loss of jobs in the history of the United States, although in fairness it should be pointed out that this was largely the fault of Covid-19 (although certainly not helped by Trump's inept response to Covid-19).

LOL

I'm sure the poster meant record "low" unemployment numbers.  But it was his bad luck to high unemployment numbers during his time as well.

Yes, he had record low unemployment numbers in various demographics.  Obviously,  covid 19 led to job losses.  So, not sure why you even brought it up.

Here's the graph of unemployment rates before and after Trump came into office.  It doesn't appear Trump altered the trend.
