The title says it all, what would you rather do than go into work this weekend? Although I do feel fortunate to have my job, I have to report to work at 1900 this evening and I'm not particularly looking forward to it!
I was off all last weekend due to being extremely ill, and that's just making it that much more difficult to wrap my head around the idea of putting on my scrubs tonight and driving to work to face my fate..
Here's what I'd rather be doing:
1. Sleeping
2. Eating dinner with my family
3. Cleaning (yes, I've stooped THAT low)
4. Watching movies with my friends
5. Just relaxing.
I normally enjoy working on the weekends, but this week I'm finding it to be such a drag….
Esme, I'm sure I've read it somewhere on here before….but would you mind reminding me why you can't work anymore? Did you have back issues?
No, I don't mind. I never used to mention it because I was working and afraid someone would "find out" and get fired or not hired, but the disease has progressed that I can hide it no longer.....so working isn't possible .
I have an auto-immune inflammatory muscle disease called dermatomyositis/polymyositis/inclusion body myositis

I too would like to be in Aruba........ but today I am happy to have power and internet back on!!!!!! It's been a long 7 days!
Not a lover of my job, but haven't been able to find something else while being a student again, so really, doing ANYTHING sounds better than going in to work. I'd seriously rather scrub toilets, match socks, write a care plan, or study for patho than go to work tonight
I need a new job....
Since I've become unable to work...there is no place I'd rahter be but at work.I guess the grass is always greener.......
I'm lying on the couch recovering from a pretty painful surgery. I'm with you...wishing I was able bodied enough to work. Granted, I don't work weekends, but I no longer take for granted a strength and vitality that allows one to get out there in the trenches and work.
I would rather be at work. My hubby will have his butt on the couch watching said Alabama/LSU game. :)
I however want to be home to watch the Gators play. Even if we are down this year, I hope we do not make it 5 in a row.
Other than working really the one thing I ask for and wont get until the day I die is time with my mama. Pitty party for me is that she passed last year at the age of 60 and this time last year I was numb. This year all that I am missing is piled up in my lap and I am in just a funk.
It is better that I keep busy with work. Down time gives me too much time to think.
I must say, that I love my job and I'm so thankful for it, but I'm totally just not feelin' it this weekend! lol
I so know how yoy feel, but I pretty much feel that way about work everytime I'm scheduled. LOL
I am not in nursing yet, but to pay the bills, I work as a waitress or as a banquet server. I don't want to be at work this weekend but alas, I dont have a choice. We have tons of events and so this weekend has been "blocked out" so even if you requested this weekend off, it wouldnt be honored. It just plain ol' sucks. So I would honestly, I would rather clean my house AND weed the whole yard over going to work.
Dang it, I got to get really for work, due in at 4pm
Scott, the visual truly wasn't necessary.
I would rather be doing just about ANYTHING else. The painful part is that I'm working my last week of my three week mandatory notice and I can't call out or I will have to make it up. UGGHGHGH. If I can just get through three more horrible days!!!!!!!!!!!! :grn:
