I found out today that our nursing uniform is white scrub pants (or a white skirt), a white polo shirt and a white smock/lab coat that has to be worn at all times. YUCK!! Plus, the polo shirt is pretty thick. Can anyone say heat stroke. I'm gonna melt and look ugly lol.
What do you wear to your clinicals?
We wear royal-blue scrubs, with our nursing school patch sewn above the breast pocket. One star is added above the patch each semester to designate what level you're in, ( 1 star = 1st semester, 2 stars = 2nd semester etc). There is a strictly enforced policy of white sneakers and a white undershirt at all times, and the lab coat is almost always optional; however, we can wear slacks, button down shirt, dress shoes, and lab coat, if we want to...
All white- choice of scrubs or uniform dress, with white closed-back shoes and a lab coat. School patches on both sleeves of all tops and the coat. I hate hate hate how I look in white, and how hard it is to keep clean, but on the plus side we're allowed to buy whatever scrub or dress brand we like, so at least I got some cute Urbane scrubs that actually fit and look decent, despite the color.
For nonclinical "professional experiences" we wear a royal blue polo with the school insignia in yellow, khakis, and the lab coat.
I accidentally bought a lab coat about three sizes too big, and I never wear it because I look like a little kid playing dress up.

if you wanna see our uniforms... check out this picture i hope the link works...:heartbeat:nurse:
Why do they make us wear those heavy lab coats? Our uniforms are white pants, just regular not cargo which would give us more pockets, a green polo and the material is thick, and a lab coat. I dont understand why we cant wear scrubs like a real nurse. I cant wait to get out of my uniform after my clinical day is over. Yuck.
Here's my class.
How's that for clashing? hahaha
