What does your nursing uniform look like?

Published

I found out today that our nursing uniform is white scrub pants (or a white skirt), a white polo shirt and a white smock/lab coat that has to be worn at all times. YUCK!! Plus, the polo shirt is pretty thick. Can anyone say heat stroke.:o I'm gonna melt and look ugly lol.

What do you wear to your clinicals?

All-white scrubs and all-white - no specified brand, style, or cut

There's a fair amount of variation between us all but we're all WHITE.

Thos are actually our school colors! I would have loved that uniform!

I don't know yet. I tried to find out but it said "uniforms are to be purchased at the beginning of the year from approved vendors" They're probably going to be ugly! At least everyone will be ugly together though

For clinical, we have to wear:

green pinstriped button down shirt

-white vest

-white pants (they WANT you to wear the official uniform pants, but as long as they are white, not see through, and not jeans, they overlook them)

-White lab coat (only for clinical research, tours, observation, et al. Not allowed to wear them when attending to patients)

-White socks over the ankle

-white shoes (no clogs with an open back, like crocs. Dansko's are fine, because they have a 'back' to them to cover the heel)

-school and/or hospital name badge

Not too bad, all in all. the only thing with the school insignia is the lab coat.

We wear all white too with a blue and white patch on the left shoulder and when we all (8 of us) got in the elevator to leave clinical with two other passengers the man in the back said he felt like he was in a bag of marshmallows!:yeah::lol2::lol2::nurse:

I don't think that looks bad at all. Much better then my clashing ensemble. Do you have to wear white shoes too or are you allowed dark colored shoes?

We have all white. My instructor said it makes us stand out and she said she has noticed that a lot of us stand taller in the uniforms. She says that it makes us look professional and I actually really like the uniforms. Not too fancy but no one really had complaints once we got in the hospital. We could always find each other because of course we were the ones in all white.

My CNA classes start early May and I'll begin ns in January. Our CNA training uniform is all white. I didn't envision just how bad I would look in all white (jeez, come to think of it the last time I wore all white it didn't end well.....!)

Now I know why my wardrobe consists mostly of black...it's slimming. White is NOT! I told myself I'd be thin by spring, oh well there's always next year LOL!! I think the dress is so cute. I think it would be uncomfortable to work in, though.

I am just glad to be going to school, so I'm with the gal who said she'd dress up like Big Bird if she had to. Except I'm Cookie Monster :)

White pants, royal blue top with the school emblem embroidered on it

Ours are sooo bad. A white collared button-down **** and green straight-leg pants with a seam down the middle. I would kill for regular scrubs.

Well we look like cafeteria lunch ladies or the clean up crew (no offense to lunch ladies & clean up crew). We wear white polo tops with white pants, white socks, white shoes, & a navy blue smock thats ties on the sides with our school name and Student Nurse embroidered on it. It also has two huge pockets on it in the front & by the time we put our stethoscope, palm pilot, bandage scissors, pen light, etc. in it we look like we are about to go build something.:uhoh21: The men's uniform look so much better than ours. Im definately burning mine after graduation!:nuke:
