I found out today that our nursing uniform is white scrub pants (or a white skirt), a white polo shirt and a white smock/lab coat that has to be worn at all times. YUCK!! Plus, the polo shirt is pretty thick. Can anyone say heat stroke. I'm gonna melt and look ugly lol.
What do you wear to your clinicals?
We have to wear a long white dress with purple belt and shoulder tabs. It is horrid.http://s116.photobucket.com/albums/o34/chixiethepixie/?action=view¤t=100-1.jpg
No trousers/tunic tops, no scrubs

I swear "that" was one of the reasons I didn't go into nursing from Highschool in NZ. The dresses are just as bad. Do you have to wear a cardie as well?
Given what I've read on here, ours aren't that bad.
White scrub pants, white shoes, hunter green scrub top. When we come to clinical, when we leave and if we follow the pt anywhere, we put our lab coat on also. But we never wear it during pt care. Forgot to add that on the left sleeve, we have to have the school health professions patch sewn on.
For pick up, it's business casual with the lab coat.

Magnesium,
I used to work in the garment industry and you should be proud that some "abuelitas" are getting paid a decent wage to sew your uniform together. It may be nice to get $10 scrub sets but someone has to pay the price by being the underpaid labour. I've seen sweatshops in our own country its sad. Not picking on your btw the way I just want to make you feel proud of what you are wearing.
