What does your nursing uniform look like?

I found out today that our nursing uniform is white scrub pants (or a white skirt), a white polo shirt and a white smock/lab coat that has to be worn at all times. YUCK!! Plus, the polo shirt is pretty thick. Can anyone say heat stroke.:o I'm gonna melt and look ugly lol.

What do you wear to your clinicals?

well, down here in miami, my school wants us to wear white pants and shoes, but the smock top they require us to wear is from the school, with the school logo....fine fine fine, except each one costs $50!!!!!!!

that's more than the fanciest, most brand-name-est scrub top out there!!!! i'm in clinicals/clinical settings three days a week, and have to wear the uniform to school as well.......so do you think i can afford five $50 scrub tops????

they mentioned that they are handmade here in miami....oh, great, i have to pay $50 for a top i'll never wear after i graduate so your abuelita (grandma, to all you english-only) can make $50 sewing our tops. sheesh.

i'm a little bummed, especially since i have five very nice all-white regular scrub tops i could have worn instead....

Magnesium,

I used to work in the garment industry and you should be proud that some "abuelitas" are getting paid a decent wage to sew your uniform together. It may be nice to get $10 scrub sets but someone has to pay the price by being the underpaid labour. I've seen sweatshops in our own country its sad. Not picking on your btw the way I just want to make you feel proud of what you are wearing.

We have to wear a long white dress with purple belt and shoulder tabs. It is horrid.

No trousers/tunic tops, no scrubs :(

I swear "that" was one of the reasons I didn't go into nursing from Highschool in NZ. The dresses are just as bad. Do you have to wear a cardie as well?

I really wish I could see pictures of more of these! :rotfl:

I will be wearing white pants and shoes with a green polo shirt that has my school's name on it. We also are required to have a white lab coat. Not too bad!

BRIGHT red top and bottom. Everyone (patients, staff, heck even the janitor) knows we're students.

Dark maroon colored scrubs, white shoes, and we alse get a white labcoat with the "Rhode Island College- School of Nursing" emblem on the sleeve.

We have hunter green tops with the school logo and our name embroidered on them, white pants and white shoes.

Given what I've read on here, ours aren't that bad.

White scrub pants, white shoes, hunter green scrub top. When we come to clinical, when we leave and if we follow the pt anywhere, we put our lab coat on also. But we never wear it during pt care. Forgot to add that on the left sleeve, we have to have the school health professions patch sewn on.

For pick up, it's business casual with the lab coat.
