What did you get for nurses week?

I'll go first,

Icecream social, free massages at work and a picnic blanket with hospital logo. I'm sure there are other things I've left out but this is what we got so far.

I have no idea what I got for nursing week since I am on leave!

The privilege of helping to save my son-in-law's life. They live overseas and my daughter skyped to give me his symptoms and to ask if I thought he need to go to the doc. I said yes. Then, they called back wondering if he should go to the ER instead because his pain was increasing. I said yes......he had a HUGE gall bladder (the surgeon said it was the size of a Big Mac) that was infected. The surgeon also said that if it had ruptured he probably would have died. So, yeah, I'd say this has been the best Nurses' Week I've ever had! Very thankful for technology!!!

My school celebrates teacher appreciation week by calling it staff appreciation, so I got all that good stuff (free breakfast one day, lunch another, cake another, bottle of water, etc). Specifically on School Nurse Day, the district nurse organizer gave us all little baggies with a couple candy bars and one of those cards that explains each one -- you are a Lifesaver, deserve a big Payday, etc.

The best was from a student though - my whole clinic is decorated in Muppet stuff, and she got me glass cups that have Kermit and Miss Piggy on them. So cute!

A paper bag with a bottle of water, and apple, a chocolate square, and trail mix. Oh, and a pin with the CNO's picture on it so we all know what he looks like.

WTH?????

That is funny! Our unit clerk did not know who our CEO was (looked like, I mean), and she'd been working for ages at the hospital. She was watching a video clip of him and insisted he didn't look like that! LOL

A tee shirt that if we wanted it we had to pay for it and a flyer advertising businesses that were giving nurses free things like a cinnamon roll.

Specializes in M/S, LTC, Corrections, PDN & drug rehab.

Nothing, but I'm not working. Even if I it would still be nothing. :p But I can see where I need to work.

Specializes in Pedi.

The worst week of my career. A whole bunch of people not doing their part and expecting me to move Heaven and Earth to fix it. My employer did accidentally send me 2 gift cards instead of one, though.

I think I'd wear that CNO's "face pin" on my BUTTOCKS for the week....

Breakfast and junk food.

Me personally, I got a new job. :)

A bag of trail mix, that was it.
