What did you get for nurses week?

I'll go first,

Icecream social, free massages at work and a picnic blanket with hospital logo. I'm sure there are other things I've left out but this is what we got so far.

Since I'm the boss, I got to give myself the day off. I got to talk with an old friend (who is a nurse) for a couple of hours, because she has a bad disease and she needed a nurse. And I got to go to a great program on Linda Richards, the first trained nurse in the US who opened the nursing school at Man's Greatest Hospital (see House of God), see a beautiful portrait of her unveiled, and chat with some other nurses. A little vaca day in the midst of chaos.

Jealous.

Same three things we get every year for nurse "appreciation" week--zip, zero, zilch. Not even an acknowledgement of the day or week from management.

I am a school nurse, so Nurse's Week coincides with Teacher's Appreciation Day/Week (here? or is this nationwide?). So my appreciation day wasn't aimed specifically at nurses, but I still got to reap the benefits. I got a nifty key chain with my school's mascot on it (go Bulldogs!!) and a highlighter set with my school's mascot on it (go Bulldogs!) as well. Also, the superintendent bought us lunch yesterday.

if you don't count the surprise flowers from my hubby, we (on nights) got food on Tuesday morning - hoagies at 2 am. Other than that we got nuttin'

I am a school nurse...love my kids/staff and parents. I am the only nurse. I know if I worked in a hospital or docs office then I would be lucky to get a free lunch. I am blessed.

A million hand made cards from all the students. I love them!!

Beautiful Flowers both real and 1st grade made me handmade paper flowers in a vase :-)

$90 in the form of a money tree from 5th grade along with a gigantic card

1 hour massage gift certificate from local spa

Candy, cookies

Coffee mug, lotion, peach soap

Starbucks gift card

Subway gift card

Hubby took me out to supper.

My husband sent me flowers at work, and I got a bouquet from my school. I also got flowers from 2 students.

My health aide made me chocolate Oreo truffles. Oh. My. Goodness.... YUM! :)
