When do you start school ( date)? Are you planning to buy anything that could help you in nursing school, if so, what? I just want to buy a voice recorder.

Don"t worry guys, you'll do fine. Just stay positve. They did't accept you for nothing, but because they know that you can do it!

Specializes in ICU.

Specializes in Cardiology.

Starting August 30th. I bought a binder, filler paper, notebook, my text (obviously,) a student planner, a voice recorder to replace my old one, index cards, new pencils, etc.... I also searched all over the place to find a wheeled backpack that seemed durable and would accommodate my computer and several big heavy books. I ogled some gorgeous J. World bags, but finally settled on a plain blue bag. I also bought my required school uniform, name tag, stethoscope, and scissors. Orientation is in a few days- I'm sure they'll tell me then what else I need.

I'm curious. Is that "text" singular??

I am about to go to school today for a "critical thinking" test to see where our class stands.....tomorrow is orientation and class starts weds. Aug 18th. I am nervous and excited. Cant wait til this week is over. I sould have alot of answers to my many questions! :yeah:

Hi Everyone,

I begin the ASN nursing program on August 23rd. My classes are nursing fundamentals lecture/lab/clinical, nursing pharmacology, and medical-surgical lecture. Medical-surgical lab and clinical begin the first week of October.

I have all my books, supplies, calender organizer, stethoscope, BP cuff, and uniforms. After reading many threads so far here, I purchased a Saunder's review book to study throughout the nursing program. I also decided on a rolling tote from a hobby store after reading the nursing gear thread. I hope it performs well through the snowy parking lot this winter.

I obtained my health provider CPR/AED certification in June 2010 and attended orientation in July. Now, I just need to hem my uniform scrub pants for Monday.

I felt so excited in June when I received my acceptance letter. Now, I feel excited and anxious at the same time. I wholeheartedly desire to be a good nurse in the end.

Best wishes to everyone here! :)
