... ABC News has reported shots fired inside the building and CNN reports a woman is in critical condition after being shot in the chest on the Capitol grounds. Virginia is sending the National Guard and 200 state troopers to Washington DC at the mayor's request, Reuters reports.
Earlier, Congress members were forced to leave the building, leaving gas masks on their desks, as the Capitol went into lockdown in response to the invasion...
I wonder if his children and the complicit congressmen and senators actually know how history is going to view them and whether they care even if they are aware?
They obviously don't appear to care about their current portraits but even if they are unaware, how many people or even friends surrounding them are so ignorant or uncaring to not have discussions about their actions?

Rioters had broken through the thin police line on the Capitol steps and were descending on hundreds of lawmakers conducting the ceremonial, quadrennial act of certifying the presidential vote — and the mayor and her aides were not able to stop the attack.
Ms. Bowser and her police chief called the Pentagon, asking for additional D.C. National Guard troops to be mobilized to support what officials were realizing was inadequate protection at the Capitol. But they were told that the request would first have to come from the Capitol Police.
In a call to Chief Steven Sund of the Capitol Police, they learned that his force was under siege, lawmakers were being rushed to safety, and rioters were overrunning anyone in authority. He kept repeating the same phrase: “The situation is dire.”
Cutting through the cross talk, one person on the call posed a blunt question: “Chief Sund, are you requesting National Guard troops on the grounds of the Capitol?”
There was a pause. “Yes,” Chief Sund replied, “I am.”
Yet the Capitol Police and the city’s Metropolitan Police had rebuffed offers days before for more help from the National Guard beyond a relatively modest contingent to provide traffic control, so no additional troops had been placed on standby. It took just over four hours for them to arrive.
It was just one failure in a dizzying list that day — and during the weeks leading up to it — that resulted in the first occupation of the United States Capitol since British troops set the building ablaze during the War of 1812. But the death and destruction this time was caused by Americans, rallying behind the inflammatory language of an American president, who refused to accept the will of more than 81 million other Americans who had voted him out of office...

If Putin is exposed by future investigations re election fraud etc and his money gets impounded, who's he likely to blame and how has he responded in the past? Because any investigation of Trump will uncover Putin's involvement and per the Panama Papers, what else is there to be uncovered?
I have very little doubt that Putin has been funding some of the right wing extremists!

What turmoil? It would be a consequence to being a traitor to this country by inciting sedition and a riot to attempt a coup. Also, Trump can do a lot of damage in 13 more days. That is more worrisome than a bunch of Trump supporters becoming butt-hurt, in my opinion and the bipartisan opinion of many within the intelligence community and on Capitol Hill.
Plus impeachment has far-reaching consequences for this President. Which is why, IMO, it is worth it.
The thing about Trump is that he recognized something or maybe it was just his personality.
People want to be led. They want to follow. And he used the biggest bullhorns in history in Twitter and facebook. People don't seem to care what's being said, just how loud it's said and how many times. Democrats in Stacy Abrams recognize this. Why do you think money is the key. It buys bullhorns!
I am afraid that Biden is from a different era and will not use his position wisely. He's too decent a human being in a time when you need someone with Trumplike skills for brandishing but has the interlect of Obama and decency of Abrams. His cabinet picks so far reflects his conciliatory persona.
It's vitally important to punish the members of the house and senate that supported this insurrection. They are not just recently dangerous. Too many members of the republican party willingly embrace false gods. They lie and cheat with impunity and they use their BULLHORNS EFFECTIVELY!
We need a Barrlike AG to go after them for legal reasons, not political. Democrats are playing a different game and republicans are the Detroit Pistons. Dirty, rough and with too many players willing to change the rules to win!
These are people who like to call themselves patriots and Americans, but the very fundamentals of being American is democracy! Thank you to these women Senate aides who saved the state confirmed Electorial Vote document chests which allowed Congress to reconvene and complete process of confirming as President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris at 3:41AM today otherwise rioters could have destroyed them.
