Violence has erupted in Washington DC as Trump supporters storm the US Capitol Building, with reports of a woman being shot on the Capitol grounds...
... ABC News has reported shots fired inside the building and CNN reports a woman is in critical condition after being shot in the chest on the Capitol grounds. Virginia is sending the National Guard and 200 state troopers to Washington DC at the mayor's request, Reuters reports.
Earlier, Congress members were forced to leave the building, leaving gas masks on their desks, as the Capitol went into lockdown in response to the invasion...

Reminder to the people that Ivanka has referred to as "American Patriots": It's possible to be charged with first-degree murder under the felony murder rule even if there's no intent to kill. All that's necessary is the participation in the commission of a felony, where a death occurs during that felony, even if the defendant wasn't the one who killed the victim. Vandalism on federal property is a felony.
Were you exposed to any of DJTJ's ranting?
Speaker Pelosi announced at todays press conference that VP Pence needs to invoke 25th amendment or Congress will proceed with impeachment. Chuck Schumer issued same statement.
At the same time on TV, President Biden announced Judge Merrick Garland ESQ as Attorney General -- lots of work first day and week in office after yesterdays Capital insurgency.
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan calling for President Trump to resign or be removed,.

I am awaiting for the autopsy report on the dead woman. It will be another layer of the story to find out who has to own up to the bullet. And I'm also concerned all/some/any of the capital police were complicit. I don't for a minute think that anyone went there with the thought that this was going to be a peaceful protest. It was much more of drunken brawl by people who have nothing better to do.

YES, because we the people believe in this democracy, we have a democracy. Also, our incoming President acknowledged that black and brown people committing this insurrection would have been treated differently. That too is hope for our future.
Trump needs to be removed from office now. We need not wait 13 more days. Invoke the 25th Amendment or impeach and remove him within the next 24 hours! Trump is a clear and present danger to our country.

While Trump resigning wouldnt be the worst thing in the world after yesterday, the turmoil caused by impeachment or 25th amendment proceedings vs 13, now almost just 12 more days, isn't worth it imo.

It's also interesting that the DC mayor insisted that there be no federal backup to the DC police yesterday.

What turmoil? It would be a consequence to being a traitor to this country by inciting sedition and a riot to attempt a coup. Also, Trump can do a lot of damage in 13 more days. That is more worrisome than a bunch of Trump supporters becoming butt-hurt, in my opinion and the bipartisan opinion of many within the intelligence community and on Capitol Hill.
I was out all day yesterday but when I got home and saw the chaos on the news I was pissed! There is literally no excuse for this. And then to have some members of Congress get up there and continue the BS caused me to just turn the tv off. They're tone deaf and it's almost as if they want mass chaos. Finding out what happened at the Capital was happening all over the country made it far worse. And I don't know if you all were aware (hadn't read through the whole thread yet) but Rudy G leaving the message on the wrong Congressperson's voicemail about the planned insurrection and trying to scheme on causing conflict in Congress, on behalf of Trump, was the icing on the cake.
And finding out today that Trump's at Camp David makes me think there's more drama planned. They found pipe bombs, weapons, and all types of debauchery in DC yesterday. It's all bad!
