... ABC News has reported shots fired inside the building and CNN reports a woman is in critical condition after being shot in the chest on the Capitol grounds. Virginia is sending the National Guard and 200 state troopers to Washington DC at the mayor's request, Reuters reports.
Earlier, Congress members were forced to leave the building, leaving gas masks on their desks, as the Capitol went into lockdown in response to the invasion...
I struggle with my LEO friends and family who who defend the actions of the police that aggravated the BLM movement this Summer. They refuse to see that the deaths of George FLoyd and Briona Taylor CONTRIBUTED to this.
In no way do I condemn the rioting or vandalism. But fuel was fed to the fire when the Boogaloo Boyz and Proud Boys showed up with their #45 flags and pickup trucks, acting like vigilantes. They created mayhem as well.
It will be interesting to see she result of the Capitol police investigation. Were some of them complicit? It would appear so.
Why did that 2nd officer commit suicide? PTSD or possibly guilt?
