I'm in NY. Wonder how other NURSES are feeling about mandatory COVID vaccination?

LOL
Probably lots of people have died shortly after getting "the shot"...why do you find that alarming? I'm guessing because you don't know the difference between correlation and causation but someone told you this so you think it's a big conspiracy.

Why are you so quick to believe that a sensationalist sentence on an anonymous forum is true? If someone reports that Ben Affleck is going to marry his sister, would you automatically believe that?

Mercy65 claimed that in addition to the 2, there are "so many others" who have died from the vaccine but they haven't been reported. There is no evidence to support this.

I expect Mercy65 will refer to VAERS again:( despite your excellent and patient explanation of the statistical expectation of many people dying from other causes during the initial data gathering. That's what frail, elderly nursing home patients when any disruption in routine occurs. Maybe she is not aware that they were the first people vaccinated.

@Mercy65 I have heard of these deaths we had one that I know of but post mortem revead the victim had advanced coronary artery disease which was more likely the cause of death. This was well documented in news in my local area but you surely know that correlation is not thesame as causation.
There was a story making it's way through social media that a two year old girl died shortly after receiving the MMR vaccine. I was able to Google the story and found out the child had been hit by a car after getting the vaccine.
This vaccine is extremely safe and effective in reducing symptoms of person who get covid.
But you know, I always say you do you but accept the consequences that might go with your decision.
Hppy

Who is WE?
Since when is anyone here authorised to generalise with such a sweeping statement as WE?
You asked why the vaccinated are concerned about those choosing to gamble with disease rather than vaccinate...that's the WE...you authorized it with your silly question.

The journalism community has been coming to terms with the idea of false equivalency, and the several posts related to this one demonstrate why false equivalency, while superficially seductive, is a bad idea. There is no equivalence to some “sides” of actual debate. Is it “fair and balanced” to give equal time and weight to, say, the idea that children should be taught to enjoy sexual activity by experienced adults (which I hope most here would find repugnant) versus not, even though some people find it a valid expression of their core beliefs? Of course not. Likewise there can be no equivalency to promote “agreement” on the value of vaccination on public health.
Giving equal time to scientifically validated data and social media-based nonsense is both intellectually dishonest and counterproductive.

They are saying that if she's claiming that there is clear causation then she is lying. They are saying that implying that those deaths were a direct result of vaccination is misinformation or a lie because there's is no way that she can know that the vaccines caused the deaths.

Well, as a vet I didn't join to fight for your freedom to refuse a vaccine and endanger the general population. People get this whole "join to defend my freedom to make choices" twisted. They joined to defend the Constitution, which does not mention freedom to choose. Even George Washington saw the value of vaccination and mandated his men get vaccinated against smallpox.
As a veteran I 100% agree with this post. Thank you for your service.

Please just save it. My aunt died of COVID last Summer. I have no room in my heart for professionals who don't believe in science and have no wish to try to bring about an end to the pandemic.

The following is from the CDC website:
For public awareness and in the interest of transparency, CDC is providing timely updates on the following serious adverse events of interest:
Anaphylaxis after COVID-19 vaccination is rare and has occurred in approximately 2 to 5 people per million vaccinated in the United States. Severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, can occur after any vaccination. If this occurs, vaccination providers can effectively and immediately treat the reaction. Learn more about COVID-19 vaccines and allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.
Thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS) after Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen (J&J/Janssen) COVID-19 vaccination is rare. As of October 6, 2021, more than 15 million doses of the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine have been given in the United States. CDC and FDA identified 47 confirmed reports of people who got the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and later developed TTS. Women younger than 50 years old especially should be aware of the rare but increased risk of this adverse event. There are other COVID-19 vaccine options available for which this risk has not been seen. Learn more about J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and TTS.
To date, two confirmed cases of TTS following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (Moderna) have been reported to VAERS after more than 382 million doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines administered in the United States. Based on available data, there is not an increased risk for TTS after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination.
CDC and FDA are monitoring reports of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) in people who have received the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine. GBS is a rare disorder where the body’s immune system damages nerve cells, causing muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis. Most people fully recover from GBS, but some have permanent nerve damage. After more than 15 million J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine doses administered, there have been around 228 preliminary reports of GBS identified in VAERS as of October 6, 2021. These cases have largely been reported about 2 weeks after vaccination and mostly in men, many 50 years and older. CDC will continue to monitor for and evaluate reports of GBS occurring after COVID-19 vaccination and will share more information as it becomes available.
Myocarditis and pericarditis after COVID-19 vaccination are rare. As of October 6, 2021, VAERS has received 1,640 reports of myocarditis or pericarditis among people ages 30 and younger who received COVID-19 vaccine. Most cases have been reported after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), particularly in male adolescents and young adults. Through follow-up, including medical record reviews, CDC and FDA have confirmed 926 reports of myocarditis or pericarditis. CDC and its partners are investigating these reports to assess whether there is a relationship to COVID-19 vaccination. Learn more about COVID-19 vaccines and myocarditis.
Reports of death after COVID-19 vaccination are rare. More than 403 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through October 6, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 8,638 reports of death (0.0021%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine. FDA requires healthcare providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if it’s unclear whether the vaccine was the cause. Reports of adverse events to VAERS following vaccination, including deaths, do not necessarily mean that a vaccine caused a health problem. A review of available clinical information, including death certificates, autopsy, and medical records, has not established a causal link to COVID-19 vaccines. However, recent reports indicate a plausible causal relationship between the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and TTS, a rare and serious adverse event—blood clots with low platelets—which has caused deaths.

I'd like to see a news story on the two deaths. Fox and Newsmax would NEVER let that go if it were real. I real several medical newsletters a day. That kind of news would never go unnoticed by the physician or scientific community and I've read nothing. If Mercy65 can show me some evidence of that I will stop believing that Mercy is a Russian bot or non-nurse.
