Vaccination for clinical

Hey all,

I just got accepted to the nursing program at my school. I've been there for about year doing the pre-req's and got accepted for Summer entry!

Part of the requirements clinical is to get all my vaccinations up to date and a TB test.

I'm not a believer in vaccinations. I filled out the paper work to attend college in the first place without getting vaccinated. At the time they called it a religious exception, so while that wasn't the reason I went with it because they didn't ask any more questions.

I'm just not interested in being injected with all the extra crap in the vaccine. The preservatives, the mercury and all the other junk. The high levels of failure of the vaccine as well as the toxins in the vaccines.

This is not a discussion about vaccines and anti-vaxers... this is about my clinical application to nursing school. I understand the hospitals want it because of our exposure to patients but I simply don't want that crap in my body.

Is there a way to get out of the vaccinations for my clinical?

Again no debate on why... I just want to know about possibilities to still enter my clinical without the vaccines.

Thanks,

John

Whaaaaaa??? Unless he’s at a private school maybe... But years ago I had my nieces and nephew at my house, while their missionary parents were fundraising (speaking at churches and taking donations etc.).

They were with me for at least a month — long enough that we enrolled them into our neighborhood public school. I got a call from the office saying that my youngest niece didn’t have the 3rd of the hep B series; I had to take her to get one because the policy was “no shots, no school.”

That was for hep B — not something that a 1st grader is ever going to contract or spread by sitting in a classroom.

Clinical sites that will waive the requirements? You’re better off hunting unicorns. I couldn’t even get a MEDICAL exemption for the public health practicum in my BSN bridge program; I was pregnant and turned up susceptible to varicella, mumps, and rubeola.

And the scarier part is that the OP works as a teacher currently according to this site.

I am shocked to hear they allow teachers to be unvaccinated

OP has left the building. We can stop "educating" him/her, now.

Why would a healthcare provider take the risk of having unvaccinated workers. No easy way to get out of it if ever....not in this litigious society. It's not fair to expose others and patients necessarily to any infectious disease process you may have.

It’s a good idea that you should stay away from a hospital setting if you don’t want to get vaccinated so that we won’t have another high-risk ‘patient’ we need to take care of.

Oh and btw, you might still get tetorifice which have been extinct for 30 years but coming back again because people don’t let their kids vaccinate. Read:

I’m here for the comments and I’m not disappointed.

If you can’t think beyond yourself for vaccines, you should consider a career outside of healthcare.

This is the take-away. OP is just "not interested," which is just... very disturbing. After reading the post once more, I think this might be click-bait.

This is the best troll thread we have had in a while. OP posts the thread and we are now up to 70 responses and the OP has not been back to respond since the original post.

I like to think that the OP was doing an experiment: ask a question you KNOW will raise hell, ask people not to judge and see how long til everyone loses their mind. I think AN made it about 2 pages. New record!! :D

I think you are right! I normally try and stay out of things, and I feel bad for some posters because they sometimes get such harsh reactions. But this post got my goat!!
