hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.
Can't wait to hear from others.
i think they stress the middle of november just so they don't start getting calls in mid or late october wondering about when letters would be sent out. i have a feeling though, that we'll know by late october/early november. the way the admissions coordinators were talking about it, i think they'll try to push the letters out as quickly as possible.
hmmm... well if they only interview around 300 applicants, and there are usually 25 applicants interviewed per day, then they only need 12 days to go through everyone. so i'm guessing that the bulk of the interviews will be over in early/mid october. okay enough number crunching...i have to study!
i was thinking about it earlier...once they choose who gets interviews, is everyone pretty much on an equal playing field? or do you think they still factor in grades and net scores along with your interview to make the final decision?
i'm not sure if that makes sense...what i mean is do your grades and test scores only get you an interview, then the interview alone gets you a spot in the program?

I think they'll still look at everything... I guess it depends on how competitive the applicant pool is. If they can decide right away on who they want to admit, then I think they'll just look at the interview. If the applicant pool is very competitive, they'll dig back into the test scores, grades, resume, and interview to set the applicants apart from each other.
