U.S.A. Texas

hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

Hello Butterflykiss

I am also a UT Hopeful for the Spring of 2010, I applied for the fall but did not make the cut, so I am hoping for the best for the Spring. I too have some classes left, I will be finish this semester, so hopfully I will make it in somewhere in the Spring.

Good to see someone started a trend for the hopefuls. :)

I as well am a UT Houston hopeful....My science GPA is 4.0 as of now and my overall GPA for U of Houston is 3.80, I have two overall gpas one for UTA and one for UT...have to keep my options open!!! I haven't taken the Net yet but will be taking it soon, does anyone know if its the same as the HESI??? I have to take both test hesi for UTA and NET for UT. :) I will update my prereqs once the semester is over..hopefully I can keep my science GPA at a 4.0

Hi Futurenurse38 and misspink86, glad to hear from you. Futurenurse38, do you have any backup plans inplace? I am thinking of keeping community colleges, TWU and Praire View as backups. I hate thinking of going to a community college when I have my prerequisites for the BSN. But with some of the waiting lists I've heard of, I won't rule out CC colleges if it comes to that. misspink86 I am not sure about the hesi. I have not taken an entrance test yet.

I am also applying for UT houston for spring 2010 entrance! i also followed the ut houston fall 2009 students's board, and have been itching to start my own applications for the spring. I am applying to TWU-Houston, UTMB (summer 15 month - Due in oct), and possibly UTHSC-san antonio (i don't completely know if i will or not...is anyone else applying to this program?).

I am graduating a semseter early in December 2009 with a BS in Health, but don't want to go into an accelerated program. i think i might go crazy if i do! I'm finishing up anatomy and phys II, public speaking, lifespan, and intro to lit this semester. For the summer and fall, i will be taking medical term., pathophys., drugs and soc., and texas gov. (plus some major courses to finish out my degree). THEN i will be DONE! :D I'll take the entrance exams (NET and HESI A2) in June, but i haven't signed up for them yet (i don't think you can for a couple of weeks).

...i am so incredibly excited for this semester to be over.. after i take my anatomy II final i think i will do absolutely nothing for a week! i took anatomy I last sem plus 12 hours and anatomy II this semester plus 12 hours, so...i'm tired of school! haha!

Hi everyone, I saw your posts about UT houston and I wanted to drop a line. I too have considered the bachelor's program at UT, but I've been back and forth about whether it would be worth going for the adn at Lone Star vs going ahead and getting the bachelor's at UT. I am currently at student at the WillowChase location of Lone Star getting my pre req's done. My goal is really to get my bachelor's and then my masters in pediatrics.

Can anyone tell me what the application process is like at UT? From what I've heard all the programs, associates and bachelors are hard to get in, so I'm wanting to make sure I have all my ducks in a row. Can you only apply once a year for the nursing program? What kind of grades should I be shooting for? Thanks so much for your time and Good Luck! ;)

Hi all...I am a spring hopeful. I am trying for a second bachelors degree in nursing (I am currently a special education teacher). I have applied to UTMB's BAAC2 and I am signed up to take life span...in a may mini and summer I will take a and p 1, chemistry and statistics! I am also going to apply to UTH and San Jac's ADN program! I wish all good luck! I know this is what I really want and I am so glad to have found you all on here! Is anyone else considering UTMB?

I am also considering the UTMB program. I would be eligible for their accelerated track, but i think it would be too intense for me. I will be applying for their 15 month generic program (Oct. 15th deadline) that starts in may.

I plan to apply for the 15 month program if I don't make the cut for the spring cut...where did you take your pre-req's Kimmy008? Just wondering b/c I am still taking some of them. :)

i'm gonna be done with all my prereqs (except texas gov.) by the end of the semester (aka 2 weeks . . . cannot WAIT) at A&M...then then i'll graduate in december with a BS in health. :)

I'm thinking of applying to UTMB as well, I am taking the HESI A2 May 30 and most likely will be taking the net in june sometime.....I can not wait for this semester to be over with! I am takin A&P I & II at the same time, too much work....I have no idea what I was thinking but so far I am making an A's in both! and on top of that plus 14 hrs on top of that! crazy but I am takin 2 classes online out of the 14 credit hrs so its not that bad! Kimmy008 I agree I think I'm gonna hibernate for a week right after the semester is over with!

hi everyone. I just had a question for those considering UTMB. I am ntersted in the program there, but just concerned about the commute. Is anyone planning to commute to the Island? I live in the Sugarland area, and am just wondering if the commute is realistic.

thanks
