hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

first choice is twu,2nd is utmb and 3rd id ut houston and my last option is pv.i am scheduled to take the eri net on saturday(23rd may).have you taken the eri net for UT?I plan to take the hesi for twu first week of aug or end of july.have you started your vaccinations?

no I really need to start my Vaccs....what about you? yeah my neighbor just graduated from TWU last saturday and she loves TWU! I'm so happy they dont have interviews lol I attend UTA through out the semester and love it to. No I havent taken the net yet, thank God TWU takes the Hesi A2 now. Where have you taken all your pre reqs at? Ive taken mine at DCCCD, TCC & UTA.

I'm a UT-houston spring 2010 hopeful as well.I just finished up my last semester with 4.0 GPA.The only class i have left is lifespan and I'm done until nursing school.I'm studying for the NET exam now to take it the mid of next month.I'm applying to TWU too so i have to take the HESI soon as well!Does anyone know when we can start sending in our application for spring to review?Whenever I call I always get a transfer then a machine.

Hey Mau00, congrats on the 4.0! On the website it says we have to have all our admission materials submitted to TWU by July 15 for the CON deadline sept 1

misspink86,i have not started my vac but hopefully very soon. i took some of m,y prereq at TSU an most at hcc but does the school one takes classes matters in trhe admission process?how come you are happy that twu has changed to net.i am so sad about it because i prefer the net.the hesi for twu has 7 sections which i think is harder than the net which just has 2 sections

hey misspink86,thanks! But yeah I saw that on TWU's homepage too,but what does CON mean?I don't get why they want our applications in by July 15 when the deadlines Sep 1st.That's crazy! I wanted to schedule my HESI like at the beginning on July,so I'm not studying both the NET and HESI at the same time.

Yeah I know what you mean, CON is college of nursing. I'm thinking we need to have our nursing application in by July 15th and I guess apply to TWU separately by Sept 1st for Spring if we end up getting into nursing school. Let me know if you find something out

ohh haha of course college of nursing.I was expected that meant something with the dates or applications.Yeah well i've already applied to the school and got into TWU the school itself, but when i called the other day they said they didn't know the date when we can start applying to the college of nursing, sometime in the summer.

Hi! I'm so glad I found this forum! Well, I'll also be applying to the UTH school of nursing in the spring 2010 semester, and I just wanted some advice and maybe at least a spark of hope that I can make it into the program. I'm still a bit confused as to how I can get into nursing school efficiently; no one in my family has ever finished college here in the U.S. so I'm pretty much the guinea pig for my younger relatives and I need as much guidance as possible.

Anyway, I managed to maintain an overall GPA at San Jacinto College of 3.5 after the spring semester. I was told by a counselor at San Jac that I would get a better chance at getting into nursing school if I took my science classes at UH, but I didn't have that much money to support my way through those prereqs at UH. I managed to get a loan so I can finish taking Intro to Psych, Lifespan, Micro, Nutrition, and A&P I during Fall 08 at UH. However, when I spoke with an advisor at UH, he said that I could've taken care of all these prereqs at San Jac and receive as much credit as I would at UH. I was told by a San Jac counselor that if I reached over 90 credit hours, I would no longer be eligible for financial aid, which I already have so I chose to attend UH.

Unfortunately, since I chose all these classes at the last minute, I only managed to find the next available professors to teach those courses and they weren't the best. I got an A for Intro to Psych and Nutrition, B for A&P I and Lifespan, and a C in Microbiology (which I should've dropped but I wanted to get into nursing school starting Fall 09). So, after that downfall, I decided to return to San Jac and take A&P I, A&P II, and Micro (all with labs) during this Spring 09 and made all A's in those classes after finding amazing professors and worked extremely hard.

So, after taking those classes at UH and sending my San Jac transcript to UH, my overall GPA over there is currently around a 3.0. After finishing my spring semester at San Jac, I currently have a 3.5 overall GPA there (B in General Inorganic Chem I, and all A's in A&P I/II and Micro). Do you think that this will hurt my chances of getting into nursing school? Is there any way to make myself seem more competitive? I'm really nervous considering that I tried applying for Fall 09 but merely received a rejection letter. I really want to make a comeback and apply for the spring. Thanks so much!

Yeah I know what you mean, CON is college of nursing. I'm thinking we need to have our nursing application in by July 15th and I guess apply to TWU separately by Sept 1st for Spring if we end up getting into nursing school. Let me know if you find something out

I thought that we had to applying to the school before we were allowed to fill out the CON applications.

Also, I was reading a application checklist the advisor at TWU gave me and it says that we had to be accepted by TWU as a student and register for the NET test by July 15. Then all scores, transcripts, proof of enrollment, application fee, and application had to be turned in to the CON by September 1st.

twu has changed the entrance exam from net to hesi a2.you need to know so you dont go and write thge wrong exam.the hesi a2 consist of 7 sections:maths, reading, grammar, vocabulary, a & p,chemistry, biology.you can take the exam at any prometric centre.i went to the information session last week thursday and they said it was advisable to get accepted into the school and have your id before signing up for the hesi so that they can match your scores with your application

Hello,

How do you get the "ID" from TWU, I have been excepted to University already, but don't have the ID card. Did they say how to go about getting it.
