UT houston spring 2010 hopefuls

Published

hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

i think when you open the pioneer's portal account, you automatically get one

I been had a pioneer portal and have not gotten anything as of yet, do you know if we have to apply for one?

i dont think you apply for it maybe you might have to call them about it because i have not even applied to the school yet but this is the information they gave us in the information session and they also said if you dont have an id when you take the hesi,it becomes very difficult to match your scores and they just throw your scores into a box until anyone has time to sort it out n if no one has time, your scores just lie there

oh ok well I guess I will call them and find out what I need to do in order to get my ID card. Thanks for the update, is TWU the only school you are applying to?

no.i dont think i am applying to twu for spring 2010 because i took the psychology statistics and i was told if you take it,you need to have 6 hrs of maths including the math 1013 to apply.they need statistics before you can apply and then they also had some computer electives that you need to have if you are not core complete which i am not.i am applying to UT,PV and UTMB for summer 2010

kimmy088 ,

twu has changed the entrance exam from net to hesi a2.you need to know so you dont go and write thge wrong exam.the hesi a2 consist of 7 sections:maths, reading, grammar, vocabulary, a & p,chemistry, biology.you can take the exam at any prometric centre.i went to the information session last week thursday and they said it was advisable to get accepted into the school and have your id before signing up for the hesi so that they can match your scores with your application

i knew that they said that it was best to get accepted by the university first before taking the exam, but what i was trying to clarify was that we didn't need to submit our nursing school application before the july 15th deadline. it was just acceptance to the university and signing up/taking the hesi a2 by july 15th. is that correct?

about the student ID or the colleague number as TWU calls it...

I got mine though a letter they sent me (the letter just said that i had to turnin my transcripts) after I applied to the university. If any of you have received a letter from TWU, the number should be on it. mine was located on the top right hand corner.

kimmy08,

yes you are right you need to get accepted into the university by july 15th not the nursing school.the nursing application deadline is sept first.however,i dont think you need to sign up for the hesi a2 by july 15th but you need to sumbit your scores before the deadline of nursing application(sept 1)

wow thanks guys for clarifying it for all us, it got a little confusing lol :)

For everyone taking the HESI A2, make sure to reply back to this board and tell us how it went, tips for studying, etc! :)

Hi everyone in regards to the HESI you must register for the test. Go to this link http://www.twu.edu/nursing/prometric_exam_eligibility_040309.pdf

Follow the steps and then they will email you an ID number. Once you get your ID number through email with a link to the testing website. Click on it register using the ID number they emailed you. The scores have to be submitted to the CON Denton Campus by September 1st. These are things I have been told by TWU via email.

HOPE it helps

I know that TWU has two applications (one for the university and one for the nursing school)... does UT houston also have two applications, or is it just the one?
