UT houston spring 2010 hopefuls

hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

cjbarnes2006 - how weird! my writing sample was totally different! mine dealt with organ transplantation and the nurse's role in it.

i didn't realize that they were giving out different ones either! i guess i just assumed they were all the same. i must say though, i liked mine better too! i have shorter blonde hair, i was wearing a black skirt, and white/gray/black patterned blouse and a cardigan. i sat at the back table. where were you?

Short blonde hair, teal blouse, tweed skirt. I think I was the last one to get there. I sat near the front.

How late were you there? I still don't know how they decided what order to interview everyone in.

i was the fifth to last one to interview i think (or something like that) and i was done at 310 and there were two people there when i left. i wish i had looked at the time when she called my name, i have no idea how long my interview lasted! it seemed like forever, but at the same time not very long. do you know how long yours was? who did you interview with?

yeah i'm not sure how long mine lasted either....

do you really think we'll have to wait until after november 15th to find out? i'm hoping that i'd know by late october/early november....

i'll be checking my utlink like crazy when late october rolls around...

I think my interview lasted about 15 or 20 minutes, but I didn't check the time either. I interviewed with a lady who was very nice.

OK I spoke with someone at UT and she said they are running a new report this week for all of those people that took the NET after the 1st. She asked me for my GPA and NET scores and told me to be looking for an interview letter pretty soon. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.
  2. while allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.
