  1. Hi everyone! I just found this thread...I am also waiting to hear back from Parkland about the critical care and trauma nurse internship, has anyone heard anything since Thursday?
  2. Congrats, and good luck!!! I had a phone interview with Baylor ED and it was fine, so don't worry! Which unit is it with?
  3. I applied to the THR-HEB ER internship as well...I filled out the surveys last week sometime (I think) and I received a phone call today to set up an interview. I'm not sure if you've checked, but if you go to their website and log in you can check on the status of your application. I actually knew I was going to get an interview before they called this morning because when I checked my status yesterday it said "Interview to be scheduled."
  4. puffi77 - thank you for that info! i wish they'd just put all of that online so we'd all know! meggo - i applied to that as well...have you interviewed yet? I've been trying to get a hold of that article for the past few days, i can't get the full text from my school's library databases so i'm going to try to do the interlibrary loan if i can figure it out!
  5. Hi Princess WannaBe - I talked to a recruiter from Parkland about a week ago, she said just keep checking for the nurse resident positions. Did anyone apply for their Critical Care and Trauma Nurse Internship?
  6. hi puffi77, i applied to a few of the Baylor internships also, can I ask which ones you received emails from?
  7. no problem! thanks for the apartment name!
  8. congrats! here are the dates they mention in the letter: November 23 - signed drug testing and background check policy due December 4 - have to have drug screening process done, fingerprinting done, and also have sent in the immunization record form by this date Friday, Dec. 11 8-1pm- mandatory advisement session Jan. 14 - mandatory CON orientation Jan. 15 - mandatory TWU orientation that's pretty much all they say! would you mind sharing the name of your apartment complex? also, if you haven't joined the facebook group yet, you can find it if you search twu school of nursing class of fall 2011

your gpa is definitely competitive for twu! i just got in to the houston campus with a 3.7 and a 94 on the hesi. i think most people who were accepted posted their stats so you can go back and compare. for the hesi, it is definitely not too hard, but i do STRONGLY recommend the study guide listed on the website (you can also get it at barnes & noble) just so that you know what the test layout will look like. also, there's a medical vocabulary section on the exam, and most of the questions are on words they define in the book. i was accepted to ut houston also, if you don't mind me asking, did you get an interview? or did they reject your application without one?
  10. the hep B series does take 6 months, you have to wait a few months between boosters. however, some people may have gotten it as a child, i was born in 89 and received it as part of my infant shots, so if you were born around then or after you may have also
  11. i emailed mine last tuesday, and i still haven't received my info either! maybe tomorrow
  12. thanks! but actually this is what i found and read awhile ago that made this whole ordeal start.
  13. congratulations!!!!
  14. thanks for calling!
  15. i don't see it as wasting my time, i'd rather go to ut, and who actually knows if i will have clinicals, or even class, on either of these days, since they're both saturdays. i'm going to attend both orientations and then decide, and while i'm there ask about how cooperative profs will be.
