UT houston spring 2010 hopefuls

Published

hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this site, but I have an interview for UT spring on Wed the 4th that I'm completely stoked about! Is anyone else interviewing that day?

The 4th is a sunday.

I lied. It's on the 30th. Not sure where my head is at :imbar

Specializes in none as of yet, hoping for ped oncology!.

Is anyone else obsessively checking UTLINK even though you know that they aren't going to change anything on it this soon?

I still havent gotten an interview letter. I took my NET Sep 11th....did anyone else take theirs after Sep 1st like me and already got a letter? I am starting to worry because my GPA and NET scores are higher than some that have already gotten interviews. Should I call up there? Also...if anyone took theirs after Sep 1st like me can you please tell me if you got a letter already?

for all of the people who have yet to go to their interview: if you don't mind, ask the admissions people at the table outside the room where you take your writing sample and such when we should be expecting letters (tactfully of course or bluntly)/when the last day of interviews will happen... or any other useful info :) it might make the waiting better for us :D

i'm hoping they might decide early november instead of mid *crosses fingers*

guess what? i checked my mail today after i got off of work (9pm) and i got an interview letter. ahhhhh!:D:d then when i get to the part where the day and time is in bold letters i realize that it is tomorrow morning:no:!!! i hate the post office sooooo much, but i am ecstatic about the interview. i have been checking the mail everyday for the past month and finally....

it came a week late but....it came!

According with one ladie at the orientation, you have to submit everything by Sep 1st. after that, they don't even look at you even if you have excellent scores.

some situations are different...there was a fire drill during a NET exam so they gave those people another chance to take it and accepted their scores after the deadline

Missmoe- can you please tell me what day you took the NET since you got a letter yesterday? I took my NET Sep 11th...please clarify thanks

Get a load of this. I called UT to see why I havent gotten a letter and they said because you had a 64 in reading on the NET. I was like OH NO I DONT I RETOOK IT AND GOT A 76. So bottom line UT screwed up and never input my updated scores after I called to confirm they had the updated scores 3 times. She said they ran the final report this week so for those of you who didnt get letters and took your NET after Sep 1st you might want to call up there and make sure the same thing didnt happen to you. She went to the registrar to fix the issue and I am assuming they will run another report and then I will be get my letter. Like I said I have awesome grades and a good NET score and people with lower scores have been getting interviews so I just wanted to spread the news for those of you who didnt get letters and took the NET after Sep 1st...you might be in the same boat as me. Like I said she is fixing the issue to my knowledge and calling me back but you may want to look into it

I don't know how many times you retook the NET, if you only took it twice but if you didnt, did you check to see that UT accepts more than one or two NET scores, because when I missed my first NET, I had read somewhere that some schools only accept the first two or three times you take the score and will not allow unlimited retakes? A lot of websites when you google how many times can I take the NET and most schools say 3 times maximum. So maybe UT only considers the first 3 and thats why you are not getting a letter, call and ask them about that. Hope this helps.
