The schedule at the beginning of the semester will always be different for the classes that you have a clinical. You will begin with labs that get you somewhat familiar with clinical applications. In your second semester your schedule will be flipped upside down for the first month. If you have a job hopefully you will be able to discuss with your employer the unpredictable schedule you will have during the beginning of each semester. Be prepared to be VERY unprepared especially if you are the type that likes to plan ahead for things. You won't truly know your set schedule until clinicals begin.

Dallas is "harder" to get into just because there are not that many BSN options in that area. Houston has more options so there are not as many people with all of their options in one basket. TWU focuses on the grades you made during your 1st attempt in classes like Anatomy & Physiology, Micro, Stats... I personally believe they pay more attention to your TEAS score and 1st attempt grades in those "key" courses. Don't focus on others GPAs because I have seen a wide range from those accepted. DON'T LET WHAT YOU HEAR FROM OTHERS DISCOURAGE YOU!!! Apply to all of the schools you are interested in and stay positive. If I had to choose between retaking courses or focusing on the TEAS, I would focus on the TEAS test. Hope this helps :)

However, there are about 9 guys in my class...out of 97:D. The PT department has a ton of guys in their program. There is a great mix of races in the program, too. There seems to be a preference to those with a previous degree...though I don't have one and still got in:yeah:. I really hope things go your way...keep us updated:up:

Everything depends on you, your patient, your hospital, and your clinical instructor. However, I haven't heard of anyone that actually got to 'pick' their patient. Usually the Charge Nurse or your instructor will assign a patient to you. I have taken from 1.5 hours to 30 minutes. I have heard of it taking longer though.

Ummm...your TEAS score looks great!!! I SERIOUSLY doubt that being male would improve your chances...that sounds like a discrimination lawsuit waiting to happen:uhoh3:. It is true however, that being male can increase your chances of higher pay once you are licensed. In my personal experience and from what I have also heard form others, your TEAS score and your 1st grades on Micro, A&P I/II, Stats (maybe I missed a course) are extremely important to your admission. Try not to listen to previous GPA numbers( I have seen 3.2 to 4.0+)...just stay positive and TURN IN YOUR ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS EARLY. Good luck to you in reaching your goals!!!!!

WOW!!! You guys are really thinking ahead!!! After you take the course to help you in your weak area of the HESI, and you still don't pass, you will be withdrawn from the university. I seriously doubt after taking 4 semesters at TWU, you will fail the HESI. They make you take the HESI every semester, and in some semesters you take it for multiple classes. That would explain why TWU has an extremely high pass rate. Now that I am trying to find the policy online...it disappears. But it is online somewhere.

You can buy all of your books from Matthew's bookstore at the University of Texas Health Science center Houston. It is located on Bertner Avenue zip code 77030. Google it for the exact address... Or you can buy them from Major's Bookstore online. They have an actual store in Dallas, but you can also order online.

I see your frustration. The official uniform is what you see in the Handbook. The pants are wine or maroon(not all scrub companies carry both colors) and a white, wine, or maroon top. My clinical instructor required us to wear a white top due to the fact that the PCAs at the hospital wear maroon/wine tops. She didn't want us to be mistaken for a PCA. In the end, I ended up with with with a white, wine, and maroon colored top:lol2:. FYI, if you are looking to get a wine/maroon top, make sure you buy the pants in the same style with the same company. If not, you might end up with different colors and different fabric contents. Make sure you pay attention to the fabric. Hope this helps

Well, I am at the Houston campus. We used the Assessment book by Jarvis. I am not sure if Dallas is using the same assessment book. Someone from Dallas might be able to answer your question.

.If you were just accepted, you will receive a packet in the mail that will explain the background check and drug screening. As for the CPR class, TNSA will be at the 2nd Advisement session and you will be able to sign up then (you should also receive and email or mail about when the 2nd Advisement session will be).
