UC Davis New Grad Residency Fall 2020

Published

Is anyone planning on applying? Application period opens up April 29th. I am curious how it will work out with unit placement when so many programs in CA did not get to finish their preceptorships.

Specializes in Neuro/Medical/Surgical ICU.

I applied on 05/04 and my status says "application received"

mine says "application received" as well

I just first want to say good luck to you all on NCLEX and through this interview process. Even though I won't go through this process until the end of the year it's exciting reading all of your stories.

My particular question is any one applying from out of state, and have you found any difficulty in getting approved by the California BON? Sorry that this is completely off topic, but the forums I see normally are from international students. I'll be graduating from a school in the US. Thanks again to anyone who answers this. I will have hope that this hiring process won't be too much of a rollercoaster for you all.

Hey! I'm actually an out of state applicant - moved out to Mass to get my BSN and am applying so I can hopefully move back to the Sacramento area. Debated for a long while where to get my initial licensure and ultimately decided on CA due to how long the process is to get approved to test. It's really not too bad to get everything together just make sure to be on top of things and have everything prepared before you submit your application for licensure by examination. I'm still waiting to hear back about my app but to be expected since it can take 4-10 weeks after submission. Just obsessively stalking the processing times page to see where they are! Feel free to reach out if you have specific questions!

I applied for licensure in California by endorsement (I have an out of state license) and am waiting for approval - I think they'll get to my application sometime in the next couple of weeks. It seems like they're getting through applications pretty quickly based on the processing times on their website.

By chance, does anyone know the appropriate email I should use to ask a question about updating my application?

Since applying, I have only now received my Spring semester grades. I wanted to potentially forward them that.

Thanks in advance! And good luck to everyone that applied! ?

Unfortunately, they won't allow you to make any changes to your application once the application is closed ? Doesn't hurt to call though and just say in general...."Can I update my resume with my new GPA?" Good luck ?

My application says "Application Under Review". I applied on 4/29.

which units did you guys apply to?

I applied April 29 and it still just says application received on mine ? I was interested in med surg

It didn't give me an option to apply to a specific unit. From other UC Davis cohort forums it sounds like they place you based on your senior preceptorship.
