UC Davis New Grad Residency Fall 2020

Published

Is anyone planning on applying? Application period opens up April 29th. I am curious how it will work out with unit placement when so many programs in CA did not get to finish their preceptorships.

How did you all apply for a specific unit?

the 29th! just specified the unit in a cover letter. and I left the licensure spot blank, even though I am pending NCLEX too.

Has anyone here had luck getting an NCLEX date? Definitely worried about getting that in time for any of these Fall programs!

My NCLEX is scheduled for May 22. I got my ATT number on Monday night and there were test dates available as early as this week. I'm in the Sacramento area though so I don't know if getting test dates is more impacted in other areas.

I applied on April 29th and my application still just says "application received".

Oh WOW!, that's great!! May I ask when you sent in your NCLEX application?

Getting your ATT also depends on how fast your school sends its official transcripts

My application was sent in late March I think and my school sent our transcripts April 30. Some of my classmates got their att the day after transcripts were sent and some are still waiting

Hey all! Regarding the resume, did you list all your clinical experience in a table like how they showed it as an example for the application? Or just listed it? Just having trouble fitting the whole resume on one page.

Yup, listed in a table format just like they specified.

my resume is 2 pages

I am working hard to finish up all mental health and preceptorship hours this month, with an official grad. date in the first week of June. I read that the processing times for NCLEX etc. are extended California Board of Registered Nursing

Do you guys think that there is any chance that I will have a license in time for the start of this program in Aug.?

I don't see why not. If your school sends transcripts quickly and you have sent your application in well in advance, it doesn't take long for att numbers to be emailed. Just start studying for NCLEX right after graduation so you can pick the earliest available test date.

I graduated April 24 and am taking NCLEX may 22 but could have selected dates as early as may 5. Maybe it's because my school graduation date was not in line with most other schools, but the board processed everything very quickly.
