@Kit_Kat_G I mean all the listed pre-req courses!
@ean6878 If you email the school of nursing the course description they will let you know if that will work!

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have tips or a sample for the statement writing portion of the application? I have written a goal statement and was thinking about tweaking it for the program. But, last year UCSF MEPN advisor told me I should revise it. So now I feel lost....

Could someone also explain the difference between the Statement of Purpose paper and the Personal History paper?
@ASara44 those are the same ?
In the space provided, write a brief statement expressing your motivation or desire to become a Registered Nurse. Please address the following in your response: 1.) Describe those things about yourself that have prepared you for success in graduate school and as a future leader in nursing and health care. 2.) Reflect on why you would be a good fit with the mission of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing (found at http://nursing.ucdavis.edu). You may consider highlighting your academic preparation and motivation; interests, specializations and career goals; and fit for pursuing graduate study at UC Davis. 3.) Discuss how the Master of Science in Nursing degree, in Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership, will support you in achieving your goals. Relate your future goals to the vision, mission, and core values of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis (found at http://nursing.ucdavis.edu). Response cannot exceed 5,000 characters.
Thank you hdavis2200 for your help.
During your year, did you turn in a resume? I heard from someone that they were asked to submit one.
@hdavis2200
Would you mind sharing, if you feel comfortable, what you wrote for the written portion of the application? I just want to get an idea on a successful response/structure. Or any other help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Hi all, I applied last year and did not get in so this is my second time trying.
For any summer classes I would recommend staying VERY on top of the grades and transcripts because NursingCAS has to verify them before the deadline and last year mine got rejected and sent back to me so I had to fix things before it was officially submitted.
The personal history, statement of purpose and goals essay are in the second round of the application. If they take us from our NursingCas essay, we should find out in November if we make it to the second round. For now, the question stated above is what we need to respond to and not the generic personal statement essay.
I have a B.A in International Relations with a 3.45gpa, pre-reqs gpa is 3.88. I really really want this and hope this time through works for me!

Hi all,
For the fit part of the statement of purpose they state, "Please identify specific faculty within your desired graduate program with whom you would like to work and how their interests match your own." Do we really go through all the faculty and research them?

Hi dlam, I do not see that question anywhere on the application? This is what I see about the "fit" : Reflect on why you would be a good fit with the mission of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing (found at http://nursing.ucdavis.edu). You may consider highlighting your academic preparation and motivation; interests, specializations and career goals; and fit for pursuing graduate study at UC Davis

Hi Haron717,I believe what dlam is referring to are the second set of essay questions that follow the primary application. The statement of purpose and personal history statement are two additional essays that I've been told are a part of the second round of the application, which takes place around September. I was told this by a recently admitted applicant!

Mm.. interesting. Thanks for clarifying that! It seems that it is best not to tell your "whole story" in the first essay then? So as to have something to talk about later? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
