Hello everyone!
I did not see a thread for UC Davis MEPN 2020 start so I thought I would start this since applications open up next week ? has anyone written a personal statement? I can't find any specific guidelines for what to include
Also if you're having trouble finding the prompt for round one:
In the space provided, write a brief statement expressing your motivation or desire to become a Registered Nurse. Please address the following in your response:
1.) Describe those things about yourself that have prepared you for success in graduate school and as a future leader in nursing and health care.
2.) Reflect on why you would be a good fit with the mission of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing (found at http://nursing.ucdavis.edu). You may consider highlighting your academic preparation and motivation; interests, specializations and career goals; and fit for pursuing graduate study at UC Davis.
3.) Discuss how the Master of Science in Nursing degree, in Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership, will support you in achieving your goals. Relate your future goals to the vision, mission, and core values of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis (found at http://nursing.ucdavis.edu). Response cannot exceed 5,000 characters:

For instance, I plan to use Public Speaking to satisfy the verbal and group communication requirement and some other writing course to satisfy the written communication requirement.
Hi ASara44,
I’m on the same boat as you. I only took public speaking and an English class. I emailed them and was told that those two would suffice but was recommended to take another communication. However It’s too late now so I’m kinda torn. Did you end up putting public speaking for both group and verbal on nursingcas?

Yes, I believe you do! I emailed the SON e-mail and a representative informed me they'd like all official transcripts to be received by the Aug. 1 deadline.

Yes you have to submit official college transcripts to NursingCAS by the deadline! They need to verify them against the classes you input before Aug 1. I highly recommend getting these in ASAP because last year they found a discrepancy in what I typed and rejected my application for me to fix in like the last week of July and I rushed to get it all in by Aug 1.
You are not submitting them to the school, so you can get the PDFs sent directly to NursingCAS using your NursingCAS id number.
I officially hit submit last Monday for my second time applying. Anyone else turn theirs in yet?

I think that's the intention. We only get 5000 characters/ roughly 800 words for the first essay on nursing Cas so I would focus on answering the few questions listed. Pick the key thinks that have motivated you and why you think you're a good fit, etc. I'm saving more of my emotional story for the personal statement part.
