Esme is a loving person with a lot of wisdom and a lot of tact. She is also one heck of a nurse. She is the glue of this site.

Today, I am thankful for the hearing aid I was approved for by my Dr. I can't wait to hear people

This site for the never ending entertainment! My adult son inherited my work ethic.

My FT job allows me summers off to work my part-time job which allows me to do the fun things in life, like travel!

That Esme is back!!!!

The inadvertent humor in the email I just received from my supervisor, letting me know that she had faxed me a form that I needed to finish an admit.

I had sent her the original request in April. *sigh*

Today I am thankful that my family didn't boot my butt out onto the street when I was in nursing school and studying for NCLEX. They were actually proud of me and put up with all my shhhhtuff.

Today I am thankful that I have to apologize to my recently-appointed "lucky shirt." You see, I thought it hadn't done its job properly so I yelled at it. A lot. It turned out it had done its job because I really did pass NCLEX. Oops. My bad.

Today I am thankful that as a new grad, I will be starting a residency program in August.

Today I am thankful that I will be driving down next week to bring my daughter home from college, and that she'll be here a whole month. I miss her.

I'm going to go ahead and revive being thankful for the functioning rectum. It's not something I had ever considered being actively thankful for until I read this thread.

While I'm at it, I am thankful for this thread. It's been a bright spot in the midst of a lot of negativity I've seen elsewhere.

Today I am thankful that bohemian braids are back in. I don't want to spend that time in front of the mirror anyway.

Braids also help me avoid LICE...

That I'm alive. Simply that right now. I have a lot of those days lately.

Today is my son's 3rd birthday, and I am thankful for him. I am thankful for the friends I am making here. He is largely non-verbal and I'm having a hard time with it today, but he's giving me cuddles (not willingly but I'm getting them anyways.)
