Today, I am thankful for......

Published

1. An intact and fully functioning rectum

2. Opiates

3. My bed

4. Lack of psychosomatic disorders

What are you thankful for today?

I'm thankful for rotessire chicken for dinner.

I love quick pick up dinners sometimes. Usually rotisserie chickens are tasty. I make a pasta salad with the leftover chicken for lunch. It has feta cheese and artichoke heart bruschetta in it. It's delicious.

Okay I've reached the point where I have to look at the top of the screen to know what thread I am even reading anymore.

Sometimes that's part of the fun lol. I'll respond to a comment, then look up to see the thread title, and realize that the conversation has veered WAY off course-it's like that childhood game of "Telephone"-what you hear as the last person in line doesn't come close to what the first person was told.

Agree with Jensmom. A lot of the fun is seeing how threads veer WAY off the OP's original topic. In longer threads this inevitably happens at some point.

So...back on topic. I'm thankful for the conversations that wander way off track and keep coming back somehow. After all, it's not the destination, it's the journey!

Today I'm thankful that I don't have a oozing, necrotic, festering wound on my foot causing me unbearable, chronic pain.

I'm thankful that I made it safely home after the night shift without falling asleep at the wheel :angrybird9:

I'm also thankful for my air conditioned home, my blanket, my recliner, and my TV.

And of course my family, friends...oh, and allnurses! :)

Today I am thankful for:

1. That I woke up this afternoon, I have a lot left undone in my life. Time to get crackin'!

2. My patient, whom I'm rather fond of, passed away without pain or discomfort in the presence of family who love her dearly.

3. I still have my strength, which is of paramount importance to me.

4. That I finally, finally, have a day off!

Today, I am thankful that my patient who has been transitioning for the past 3 weeks finally heard from the last person she needed to hear from in order to relax and finish her life journey. She died in peace, and comfortable. Her family was well prepared, and ready. We will all miss her.

I am thankful that Esme is back! :D

I am thankful that even without the coveted BSN I hold 2 jobs and I am interviewing for a per diem job at my old hospital on Wednesday AND I am up for a very very VERY per diem job with high risk runaways.

Work is good.

Also thankful for Sam Adams Summer Ale *sip*

Another reason why I like you lol

Can someone please explain who Esme is to the noob?

I get that she's a mod and EVERYONE knows her. And that she has been seriously ill the whole time I've been around so I don't know.

I am a noob too, but I've been lucky enough to observe her in action.
