QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.
Tweety said:It's the 10th day in a row of Dow going down, something that hasn't happened since 1974. But it's Biden's fault. Trump rang the bell earlier this month to much enthusiasm. It did very well under his watch last time. Time will tell as some of his policies such as austerity and tariffs might prove a challenge. But he did better than Biden when it came to the stock market.
It is what is it. I think the feds announcing interest rates might not be cut sparked some of it today.
According to the CNN article I linked above, United Healthcare being down 15% this month is dragging down the Dow. I've seen lots of posts on social media pointing out how many claims they deny, and what patients and doctors endure trying to get authorization.

Our healthcare system is broken. I guess Obamacare didn't fix much of anything.
nursej22 said:I'm sure president-elect Musk will fix it. Just like he is taking care of the continuing resolution.
Musk has nothing to do with it.
Don't get me wrong. As I've said many times here over the years, Republican politicians don't have the wherewithal either to fix our broken system that the Democrats made worse.
I just find it amusing that some members here have nothing to do but try to come up with lame, short sighted, invalid, ill-informed criticisms of the Trump administration before he even takes office.
How embarrassing 😳

The Dow plunged 1100 points. That sucks.
How will Donny explain this one away? Is that why he wants Canada to be the 51st state?
Your article explains it. Tweety seems informed. Doesn't have anything to do withbTrump, does it? Why the need for "Donny to explain it away"? LOL
The Trump haters would be well advised to not pre-emptive criticize. I would have thought they'd learn their lesson by now...

It's the private capitalist system that's broken. I've had many patients on Obamacare getting surgeries that alleviates their pain and improves thier well-being. Obama care was designed to get more people get care and in that respect I think it's working.

Perhaps the poster was harping back to when the market was up and he was taking credit because people were anticipating him being President? Now what do they they?

Trump and Musk are telling congress what to do without being in office.
I'm not embarrassed at all. All he has to do is open his mouth and he will be criticized because he offers much up to criticize. Suck it up buttercup we've over four years to go. 🤣

Only low information people would believe that Obamacare was designed to "fix everything." Come'on, you know better than that. It was just a means for people to buy medical insurance at sliding scale fees. It has no designs on changing anything more than that. That may not be a big deal to you, but it's keeping hoards of people away from the ER's for primary care and gives other folks options when they wouldn't have any.

My parents live in Canada and although Trump would never make Canada the 51st state anything is better than Governor Trudeau.

It's become part of their lives to hate Trump. Almost like an identity. They make him more valid that they know.

Musk apparently has a few things to say.

There is a lot of pressure from Musk and the President and VP elect, as well and republicans in house. With a slim majority to get a bill passed it has to include the Democrats. Fun times.
