As you know at least three times I've been on the street protesting Trump and MAGA. The intensity of my loathing of them all scares me sometimes. So I am in no way saying "go along to get along".
But I'm an adult and I know what to keep to myself and what to say out loud.
Some people take the high road while the ugly and cruel fascist ideology destroys their republic and builds concentration camps.
Sadly most of America is unaware of what's happening to our country so yes.
But also BS to that.
Is there way of protesting and trying to stop Trump that is still the high road? Are not the protestors down in Florida taking a high road. Are not the mostly peaceful protests against high taking a high road?
The high road doesn't have to be polite, it just has not give up our humanity and decency just because they have.
At the end of the day we are still the minority in the country. Trump's approval ratings may be down but he has the support of the majority of America that voted him in and has both the house and the senate.

History doesn't really support the notion that right wing authoritarians are easily relieved of their power with elevated discourse.
Honesty about the country being better off with one less racist in social media isn't a reflection of lack of humanity or decency on the part of the author. We are discussing, in these threads, the intentional harm to our republic and the people who live in and depend upon it. If we aren't using language that is upsetting to some people, then we aren't really talking about the cruel fascist threat we face.
We aren't the minority. More voters voted against Trump than for him and he's lost support since November 2024. This is tyranny of the minority. That's why they want to push as much gerrymandering as they can before 2026. Fascists don't believe in free and fair elections.

We have very different ideas about the human ecosystem. Sometimes, silence really is golden. For instance, it can be a displacement behavior that serves to reduce the chance of lethal intraspecies violence (AKA war).

The feds are releasing FEMA monies to the states. Noem said previously that the states were the leaders in deciding how and where FEMA funds would be used. Apparently FEMA doesn't provide any guidance or leadership or expertise in emergency management... they let the states run the show... except when it comes to this. In this instance the Trump administration requires that the states use these funds to build concentration camps for ICE detentions.
