The abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.

The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood.  I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

The data is published in case you are interested in accuracy.  Thomas has accepted approximately 4 million while RBG accepted 400,000.  There isn't another justice that is even NEAR to what Thomas has taken.  No one.

So is $400 000 okay but 4 million isn't?

It's not quite that cut and dry.

Reminds me of Cuomo's quote in that podcast I linked to.  When talking about Biden not being as bad as Trump, he said " just because you're not as bsd doesn't mean you're good."

The same applies here.

Say it louder for the people in the back.

I've been saying that in these forums for years, yet people still want to deflect to someone they think is worse.  Or "well your side does it too......."  or "they wouldn't have found those crimes if it wasn't Trump/Hunter Biden and an agenda"...

wrong is wrong.

That so many openly wish for or are "joyful " that a CEO was killed, or that our president-election would be?

I guess I am naive.

I was actually naive as well and this one is really disturbing me and surprises me.  Again, in my naivety, when I stop and really think about it, I shouldn't be surprised.  We've become so desensitized to murder in this country we've lost something and we're in a dark place.

I know some poster here said something about liberals rejoicing in his death.  But I unfriended someone who voted for Trump on my social media not because she voted for Trump but because she can't shut up about that somehow the CEO's death was justified because of claims being denied.  (Not that I have many Trump supporters on my social media, because I don't), but I don't think not being bothered by his death is a liberal vs. conservative reaction.

The New Yorker has an article about the murder and people laughing about it being part of our appetite for violence.  We love this stuff.

Each day we see more and more violence from the left wing.  United Healthcare CEO murdered in broad daylight and liberals rejoice.  Now we have liberals celebrating the assault on women's rights activist Nancy Mace.

And now it turns out that the shooter wasn't even a client of United Healthcare. How do you have the inside track on what this crazy person's political leanings are?  Meanwhile, RFK's lawyer wants the FDA do drop approval for polio vaccine.  Why would anyone want to see polio come back?

Who said the United assassin had UHC?  As for his political leanings he expressed "anti-capitalist" views online.

What does RFK have to do with anything?  I'll take that man's advice over a morbidly obese crossdressing pediatrician.  RFK and the rest of his family are fully vaccinated by the way.  All the has argued for is rigorous testing of vaccines and pharmaceuticals as well as stricter regulations over food additives.

Glad that we have change coming 😃

He wants proper studies done on the safety of the vaccine.

You might disagree that needs to be done.   But saying he wants the approval dropped is a bit of a misrepresentation of his position. Implying he wants polio to come back is accrazy, over the top misrepresentation of his position.

Or, perhaps you're simply misinformed.

I meant to reply to your other post on this.  You said our country has lost its soul.  You've said similar things in the past, and now I might be starting to agree.

Even here there were some disturbing comments after the assassination attempt of Trump.

And then when I brought up the CEO matter here, some thought the need to make snarky comments without disagreeing or denouncing the despicable behavior of those celebrating.

Some violence is appropriate depending on the reason and the who. Or the skin color or genitalia. To the radical left that is.

Specifically he is looking for the presence of aluminum.  If he gets away with that, hep B vaccine presumably will be next as well as a few others.  Yet we have no evidence of a problem caused by aluminum in vaccines.  The pharmaceutical industry is an ideal metaphor for toxic capitalism but this particular example isn't a cause of anyone but RFK and his lawyer friend.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Vaccine Ingredients: Aluminum

Quote

Aluminum is the third most abundant element after oxygen and silicon, and it is the most abundant metal, making up almost 9 percent of the earth's crust. Aluminum is found in plants, soil, water and air. Most plants have low quantities of aluminum, but a few are known to be aluminum accumulators, including some types of tea plants, grasses and orchids.

Aluminum is used extensively in various ways:

  • Aluminum can be found in food-related products including pots and pans; storage containers, such as beverage cans; and foil.
  • Aluminum is found in numerous foods and beverages including fruits and vegetables, beer and wine, seasonings, flour, cereals, nuts, dairy products, baby formulas, and honey. Typically, adults ingest 7 to 9 milligrams of aluminum per day....

Aluminum is used in vaccines as an adjuvant. An adjuvant is a vaccine component that boosts the immune response to the vaccine. Adjuvants allow for lesser quantities of the vaccine and fewer doses. The adjuvant effects of aluminum were discovered in 1926. Aluminum adjuvants are used in vaccines such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B, diphtheria-tetanus-containing vaccines, Haemophilus influenzae type b, and pneumococcal vaccines, but they are not used in the live, viral vaccines, such as measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and rotavirus....

The aluminum contained in vaccines is similar to that found in a liter (about 1 quart or 32 fluid ounces) of infant formula. While infants receive about 4.4 milligrams* of aluminum in the first six months of life from vaccines, they receive more than that in their diet. Breast-fed infants ingest about 7 milligrams, formula-fed infants ingest about 38 milligrams, and infants who are fed soy formula ingest almost 117 milligrams of aluminum during the first six months of life.

"My spouse was livid about this exchange.  She said that it was the epitome of Trumpian dishonesty.

Do you think that the question posed to her was intended to shame her? Or was she simply trying to change the narrative away from that which acknowledges that Trump is a sexual abuser and defamer of his victims?"

@toomuchbaloney

"Kudos to Stephanopolos for trying to get an answer to his question. I thought Mace was doing the usual Trump tactic of playing the victim. And it was ridiculous to say that a finding of rape was less valid in a civil court than criminal court.

ABC agrees to give $15 million to Donald Trump's presidential library to settle defamation lawsuit

NEW YORK (AP) — ABC News has agreed to pay $15 million toward Donald Trump's presidential library to settle a defamation lawsuit over anchor George Stephanopoulos' inaccurate on-air assertion that the president-elect had been found civilly liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll.

As part of the settlement made public Saturday, ABC News posted an editor's note to its website expressing regret over Stephanopoulos' statements during a March 10 segment on his "This Week" program. The network will also pay $1 million in legal fees to the law firm of Trump's attorney, Alejandro Brito.

The settlement agreement describes ABC's presidential library payment as a "charitable contribution,” with the money earmarked for a non-profit organization that is being established in connection with the yet-to-be built library."

Meanwhile:

"Some senior Democrats are reportedly so disappointed with President Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, that they are threatening to withhold funding for Biden's presidential library."

The idea of a Trump Presidential Library is laughable. It reminds me of an old joke about Rush Limbaugh. He's written more books than he's read. Only the books that trump has written are all picture books.
