Never....NEVER...cut a potato in half and use it as a pessary!
Anybody got anything to add?
And BELIEVE me, I am referring to the blatant attention seekers... not the folks who have honestly reached the end of their tether and truly need support.
I knew what you meant and I definitely understand what you mean. I failed to put in the winking smilie :wink2: in there to let you know I was teasing.
There's a huge difference between the person who has truly reached the end of their abilities to keep going and make an attempt and those who do the mini-attempts to get attention or to get out of responsibilities.
Does your psych unit/day programs offer CBT/DBT groups for the patients? One of our hospitals here focuses on CBT/DBT with some psychodynamic and/or general talk therapy mixed in and they're finding better success than the hospitals that use psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapy exclusively.
We had an incident a while back where a guy had been grabbed by a police dog, managed to pick this big German Shepard up, and jump himself and the dog off the bridge. He did not die. The dog was not so lucky. Very sad. I think there is legislation that is being or has been introduced that if you hurt or kill a police dog, it's the same penalty as hurting or killing a police officer. Seems reasonable to me.

I had faith you knew really knew what I meant... but after re-reading what I wrote, I thought I'd best clarify!
Out hospital is BIG on CBT... pts do seem to get a lot out of it.
And you just made me think of something else I learned...
If you don't feel like facing work or your other Real World issues... go to psych. You won't have to face anything (and get fed drugs and food) for as long as you like... it's just a matter of how long you are able to sabotage your discharge.
I also learned that "Coping Skills" are the best skills anyone will ever acquire... but in order to benefit from them, you have to practice using them... drugs are a poor substitute.

I AGREE!!!!!! They run after guys with guns....who are on drugs and can really hurt a police dog BEFORE they realize the dog is 10 teeth into their buttocks....and then they get angry,....poor dogs....even a dogs bullet proof can't help them all the time....many departments don't have vests for their dogs....so sad...I know one in our city had full honors when it passed away....

I have a relative who, when she was married to her first husband, found a way to get admitted to the hospital on the average of once a year to have surgery. I asked our mutual relative if her ex was a pervert (I have heard of women doing this so they would have a legitimate reason to fend him off), and he said, "They're both idiots" which I already knew.
Wouldn't a spa be a lot less expensive?

I agree. The dog is a 4 legged cop. If they killed or hurt the dog, they would have tried the same with a human cop. So I don't see a reason for a different charge.
[color=dimgray]how could she even want to???don't be the girl who came into the office complaining of rectal bleeding. send her for colonoscopy that finds "significant abrasions in the rectal vault and orifice as well as grade 3 internal hemorrhoids", and become indignant when you're told to stop having anal sex because that is what is causing the bleeding.
